My partner and I stayed a few nights at Viraporn's, excellently located on Soi 6, Moon Muang, a charming area full of vaguely hippie-ish establishments, great little restaurants and generally a very peaceful and relaxing vibe in the heart of the old city. Both the owners and staff were consistently friendly and helpful, going out of their way to cater... More

Extremely well located, totally decent room (big and clean rooms, well equipped), staff was nice and price is relatively affordable for Chiang Mai. There are definitely other options in the area but this is a no brainer. Wifi worked flawlessly. But we had no hot water (no biggie however). Recommended.

This place is in a great location in old town. We had a large aircon room on the second floor with refrigerator and flat screen TV. Everything seemed brand new and very clean. Bed was big and a bit on the firm side. The pillows were too thick so my neck hurt from being at an angle all night. The... More

Viraporn's place was a welcome respite from the many guest houses...clean, welcoming, English speaking staff. The last time I was here it was CM Blue house and a little rough around the eyes. I am so pleased to see a renovation and such welcoming staff. Stay here!! You will enjoy it!

This hotel is being renovated and getting a new name under new management -- "Viraporn's Place." It will remain open and renovations will apparently be done in a low-impact way a few rooms at a time. Great location, nice new owners.

Located on a nice quiet street in the old town and just a 15 minute walk to the night bazaar. The room was large, clean and comfortable for just 300bht per night with a double bed, fridge, fan room with an en suite. The staff we're very helpful and assisted us in renting a jeep to travel to Pai from... More

I stayed for a week in August 2014 after a recommendation from my hotel in Sukhothai. I was happy with my stay here. Good location, 10 minute walk from Tai Pae Gate, plenty of shops and a market nearby. Nice, big, basic room with twin beds, a desk with chair, closet, hot water, wifi. I looked at 3 other guesthouses... More

I had a fairly pleasant stay at CM Blue House. I chose it based on its affordable price and it's great location (near a lot of my favourite healthy eats). It's pretty basic, but was clean and lots of outlets. I found the room to be too dark though (there's an umbrella over the light?), and the water pressure was... More

This hostel/hotel is in a wonderful location right in the old city. It is very reasonably priced at 350 baht a night a twin room with private bathroom and fan. The outdoor area is a lovely place to sit and have a drink as it is so green. We really enjoyed the honesty book so you could take drinks whenever... More

Nice and clean, and friendly staff. Bathrooms are getting a bit old but that's not a big deal. Very stinky sulphuric water, maybe that's a chiang Mai thing? GH in the old town range from 250-300baht for budget double, this one was 300. I felt like we could've found a better deal but it was good enough that we stayed... More
