I am simply amazed at several of the poor reviews CMTH received. I stayed there during Songkran 2006 and was made a part of the CMTH family. The service is impeccable and the staff incredibly friendly. "Bugboy" (one of the staff members) had to head home to his village for compulsory voting and took myself and three friends in order... Stayed for 5 nights in Feb '08. Found the rooms to be very spacious, clean and true to the photos they advertise. Unlike other traveller reviews my family and I had no hassels with tours being pushed on us, couldve been though we made it clear we had been to Chiang Mai several times previously and they realised they couldn't... I booked through chiangmaithaihouse@hotmail.com Peak season ~ December 2007 and January 2008. Chiang Mai Thai House is about 2 blocks away from Starbucks, across the street on Tha Phae Road, and down the 1st soi. There is a pedestrian light to cross the street just before Starbucks. I didn't care for the Chiang Mai Thai House. I stayed there for... More

We stayed at this guesthouse during February 2008. In its favour it was very clean, the rooms were a little cramped but had fans/aircon, tv and fridge. The swimming pool was small but welcome at the end of a hot day. WIFI access was expensive and there was no room safe. Food in the restaurant was cheap and good but... More

Stayed 10 nights over Xmas/New Year holidays. Single woman on own and safe, clean, close to all amenities. Wonderful helpful staff from reception girls, Oodie & Moon, Tom and the cleaners. They could not do enough to assist. Absolutely no pressure to book trips, but I did a great cooking school day through them. Rooms and all public areas are... More

Very nice rooms, clean and cosy. Good value for money. Nice pool too. They organize good trips. These are not cheap, but are worth the money, since they skip the regular tourist traps. The group is as big as your group is (so if you and your partner want to go on a trekking you go with the 21 of... More

The Chiang Mai Thai House was an utter luxury for us two young backpackers. They picked us up and dropped us of at the train, and we stayed four very pleasant nights. The room was much more than we expected, an incredible value for the rates. All of the hotels facilities were very clean and comfortable. The restaurant was superb,... More
