Stayed here for a few days in Chang mai,Loved it,very clean and comfy room with access to a balcony and pool view. It's a converted colonial house as far as I remember so had a bit of character. we requested breakfast after it had finished as we didn't realise, but this wasn't a problem.

This was in a nice location and looks pretty nice when you first enter the Guest House. However, upon entering our room, we found 6 giant cockroaches. The staff cleaned them up, but this place had more cockroaches than any other hotel/home/apartment I stayed in during my 5 months in Thailand. Despite the bugs, the Guest House was quiet and... More

Absolutely loved staying here on my trip in Chiang Mai! The location within the city walls of Chiang Mai is really good, very close to everything so you can walk to all the nice little restaurants and bars and it's only about a 15 minute walk to the Night Market, which we reached by bicycle in 5 minutes. A friend... More

We had to move rooms 2 times, first room only had a fan (not the aircondition we payed for) and the second room had massive cockroahes all over!! It was gross. Staff was friendly though and they did what they could. Location is very good and if you are after a cheap hostel its an okay place, but I would... More

I'm an experienced backpacker and have stayed in the dodgiest of acccomodations. But I was fine with it because I got what I was paying for. I'm a moralist that way, and Smile Guesthouse failed miserably in this regard. After calling and being told that a room would be held for us, we arrive to be told that they had... More

the building and pool is nice but inside a room is very dirty and dark. The price for one night is only 700 baht. i'm sure that if u see the room, u wouldn't spend your money for it. There was mold in the room that i got. OMG!! stay away from this place. trust me. i think i'll get... More

The room was very basic for the price, although it did have air con (700 baht). We had a room directly next to the pool, which was handy but in the evening, our room was inundated with mozzies as soon as we opened the door. Hard to ensure we got them all out, so put our own net up. Pool... More

Smile house is in a good location in the old town. It has a pool and jacuzzi and a nice atmosphere. We were in one of the cheaper private rooms with a fan and private bathroom. it was perfectly fine, but a little tired. If there are two of you it's great value for money!!

I was in Smile Guest House in 2005 and enjoyed my stay. I was here again in february 2014 and it was disappointing. We stayed here for three nights and there was no daily cleaning. I bumped my head several times against the door portal which is too low if you are longer than 1.75m. Of course the prices have... More
