This hotel is in a side street which takes it away from the noise. The hotel is built around a small but very enjoyable pool. It is rustic in appearance but the rooms are interesting all different designs inside. Ours a/c didn't work so they gave us another room without any arguement. The rooms are clean, comfortable with good beds,... More

Either we had the worst room in the hotel or our standards are crazy high, which they are not. I have stayed in many asian hotels, some really nice, some basic. I understand space issues are different here. But our room was not just small, it was the most oddly non-functional room I've ever been in. Yet, we knew that... More

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel whilst visiting a friend who was in Chiang Mai working. The hotel is tucked in a side street so trying to find it is hard but once you know where it is, the convienence can't be beat. Walk out a few minutes behind the hotel and you will find yourself in... More

This place is a haven in Chiang Mai. My husband and I arrived to smoothies and cold towels to cool off. We had massages in our room, with beautiful decor and beautiful bathroom with a stone tub. They had nice robes for lounging around. It was a beautiful place to come back to after exploring Chiang Mai! By the way this... More

This hotel is just the place to stay when visiting Chian Mai. We were on our honeymoon and wanted a tranquil and "spa-like" hotel. On our way from the airport we found ourselves in backtreets and unsure what the hotel was going to look like. What a pleasant surprise! Truely a little oasis or a "gem" as others refer to... More

What a hidden Gem this was. The drive in along a tiny (safe) backstreet caused a bit of concern at first, but once we got to the hotel it all melted away. The rooms are all different and fits the title of a boutique hotel beautifully. Rooms are small, but furnished with gorgeous black and whites on the wall, fine... More

I have to admit, we were a little skeptical of the hotel when we first arrived. It was night and the back alley that leads to the hotel appeared intimidating. The surroundings didn't look pleasant to put it nicely. The shuttle drove us around the old town which seemed quite alive with people. But the area around the hotel was... More

We stayed at the Manathai and got to have a range of different rooms to stay in for one reason or another. Rooms are lovely but some are just not practible, no room to put luggage or hang clothes in one room and the wardrobe was directly opposite the toilet. We had a low bed and kept on knocking the... I stayed in this hotel in April 2011 for 3 nights, having diverted our trip around Thailand north to avoid the floods in the islands. The Manathai was beautiful, the rooms and the hotel as a whole has a feel of luxury. We had a 2nd floor apartment with our own sizeable balcony area with a writing desk and seating.... More

Stayed for 4 nights in a large group. Many of the group came away with numerous nasty mosquito bites, It doesn't appear that they do anything to control them. The hotel is really beautiful set around a Koi carp pool. The restaurant is totally unable to cater for large groups and I would recommend you eat in the many lovely... More
