hotel is built like a small village, all in wood, very cosy. rooms surround a tranquil pool. rooms are tastefully decorated in a classic thai style. only downside was that one evening there was no water available in our room (staff opened other room for us so we could shower). breakfast buffet could be a bit better. second time I... Just stayed at Manathai for the first two days of Songkran. Friendly staff, good rooms and a pool. Others have commented about mosqitos but this is a beautifully planted hotel. Birds and squirrels complement the Lanna style artifacts and furnishings. A few insects is a small price to pay. There are plenty of featureless concrete mega hotels in CM. Hotel... More

The Manathai Village is incredibly well located, just a five minute walk from city centre but far enough away to feel a level of escapism. The actual hotel is quite small, and everything is centrally located around the pool. The rooms are small and clean, but the mosquitos are a problem and we were not provided with any mosquito spray... More

The Manathai is a small complex with everything close at hand. The beds are a bit hard for the price and the poolside bar is exorbitant, considering the fact that 100metres down the road the food is a quarter of the price. Also the mozzies are off the charts and no spray or repellent is provided. On the up side,... More

Tucked away down a quiet side street yet within convenient walking distance of the centre of Chang Mai this is an ideally located little gem. Small swimming pool - perfect for cooling off, but not for serious swimming (but who wants that?). The pool was never overcrowded probably because there are a limited number of rooms (29). Beautifully designed hotel... More

I want to start off by saying that this hotel seemed like it would be a really awesome experience because it was Lanna styled with antique/colonial touched and it was sort of tucked away, while still be close to most things we wanted to do. As soon as I walked in it seemed like an oasis. Unfortunately that feeling was... More

Our first impression of the hotel was that it was much smaller than we anticipated - the pool was quite small, our room was a bit small, the bath tub was this weird square vat of a tub. There were a ton of mosquitos in the room the first night, but an obliging gecko took care of them for us... More

The hotel is excelent located within walking distance both from the old city as well as from the famous Chiang Mai night market. Very friendly staff, nice clean rooms with all amenities. The reception is in a beautiful old house. Fresh buffet breakfast and nice dinner. Quiet location with a lot of restaurants in the neighborhood.
