Units and grounds are quiet and comfortable, despite busy street outside. Nice pool, lovely grounds, nice fresh breakfast in 100 yr old teak lodge with interesting guests from different countries. Sublime Wat Ket Karam is next door, and in the morning you hear birds and the monks chanting. The host, Opas, is refined and pleasant. Staff, headed by the delightful... More

We loved staying at the Baan Orapin in 2013 and so immediately booked it when we knew we were returning in dec 2014. Both times we have had the front family suite upstairs and both times have loved it (although we haven't seen the rear one!). It felt like we were returning home to our oasis behind the gates. We... We stayed for 3 nights at Baan Orapin in early Jan. 2015. We could not have selected a better B&B. The location is splendid - by the river, several top-notch coffee houses and restaurants within walking distance, proximity to Night Bazar and Warrorot Mkt, etc. The facilities are dreamy - an old Lanna-style teak mansion with impeccable taste. Freshly made... More

Probably our favorite B&B of our entire SE Asia trip. You open the gates to the Baan Orapin property and it's almost like entering the Garden of Eden leaving the noise and action of the streets behind. It's located across the river from the old city, but close to the infamous "Riverside Restaurant" and many other cool bars and boutique... More

Loved staying here. Originally booked for two nights but stayed for four. A tranquil place to stay after busy days exploring chiang mai. Nice to stay close to the river, and be sure to check out the river dinner cruise down the road and the rooftop bar for drinks. There are lots of of lovely jewelry and art shops close... More

Had 3 nights here in Jan. the room was a good size and the staff was responsive once you hunted them. The morning breakfast was very nice and we found the location to be very good, very easy to grab a Tuk Tuk when needed. About half of the outlets in our room were not working and the fan above... My stay was several years ago (2009) but Baan Orapin is a great place to stay. Charming Thai ambience and decor in a lovely garden setting within walking distance of the city. Lovely breakfast beside the small but delightful pool.

This was a real treasure - a bit of a walk from he old city, but so lovely, quiet and very special. We had the upstairs suite in the back.......this is one of the best places we stayed in Thailand (including high-end resorts).....

Baan Orapin was such a nice, peaceful place to stay. It is gated and set back far away from the road. While it is certainly not located near the action, you are just a short, cheap tuktuk ride away from the city and there are many restaurants and shops within walking distance. The service was great. Pepsi always had a... More

We have just returned from another two weeks at Baan Orapin. I am again totally miserable that I had to leave this beautiful, peaceful oasis in Chainag Mai. I wish I could live at Baan Orapin. Every member of the staff make you smile, the grounds are so relaxing, pool always refreshing, breakfasts keep you going all day, rooms are... More
