The location of this establishment is good, being only a short walk from the old city and other amenities. My room had some maintenance issues. The frame of the sliding doors on to the balcony had become detached from the wall to which it had formerly been fixed and the lining under one of the chairs seats had been ripped... More

The bed was clean and comfortable, the hot water worked, the pool was clean, the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was really good (all I needed). It was a safe place to come back to after a big day of adventure. The wi-fi wasn't really flash and continuously dropped out or would let me sign on.

A well positioned hotel that is adequate but not luxurious by any means. The wifi sucks and so does the showers, if you get a room on the back you don't need an alarm clock, cockerels wake you up at 04.30 Breakfast - they had one 2 slice toaster, they need more.... Fried eggs need to be warm not cold....... More

Close to restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, laundry services, massage places etc. Rooms are a good size and the breakfast has got sufficient options in buffet. The pool is nice with plenty of beds if you wish to relax there.

Very much a budget hotel, very hit and is with the reception staff. Some are very rude and some can be very pleasant. Room a delux double but no where near the standards ou would expect, very cramped and shower could not sustain and constant temperature. Breakfast was very poor, wifi was shocking. Constantly having to sign in every time... More

I stayed here as part of a G Adventures tour with my girlfriend. It was included in the package so cannot comment on value. However we were instantly impressed with the hotel and it surpassed our expectations for a budget tour package. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well facilitated. Breakfast was good quality... More

The Chiang Mai Gate hotel surpassed my expectations it was nice, well maintained and very clean. The staff and service was good (especially during breakfast where they constantly topped up the buffet with freshly cooked refills). The location of the hotel is very handy as the night walking market and the food market was walking distance away (as well as... More

For us, the Chiang Mai gate area was perfect. Close enough to walk to attractions in the old city as well as the Night Bazaar. Lots of small shops in the area and a great assortment of street food available in the evening around the Chiang Mai gate. Our room was in the new wing and although not large it... More
