The rooms were adorable; cute, local decor. Of the three floors, I would recommend the second if you have an option. Great view! But what set this guesthouse apart from others was the sweet, helpful, friendly man who ran the front desk. He remembered my name the whole time I was there. He was always checking in on how the... Stayed here for 1 night in April 2015: Pros: -Great value -Good for couples -Friendly service -Not noisy -Wifi worked well -Was not able to try the free breakfast, but I give them the benefit of the doubt Cons: -The door locks are pretty much non-existent. I was able to simply open our door from the outside with a credit... More

We have stayed twice before and the friendly and helpful owners were as good as always. I wanted to get some shirts made, with specific designs. Found the tailor; took us to the locals market, went through half a dozen fabric shops and was so helpful. Wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Chiang Mai

I stayed in a suite on the top floor of this lovely guesthouse for 2 nights, and I was very pleased with my choice. The large room was prettily furnished in the Lanna style, and I even had a statue of the Buddha. The bed, adorned with a fine silk weaving, was comfortable and I slept very well. The bathroom... We booked the place based on reviews read online. We weren't disappointed. It is a family run & owned Guest house. The courteous staff ensured our first time stay was comfortable not only in the accommodation but also on travel tips, transport & things to do in Chiang Mai.

The Red Hibiscus Guesthouse is a lovely place, the room I stayed in was beautifully decorated in Lanna Thai style, a little old, but immaculately clean! The Red Hibiscus is within the walls of the 'Old City' but in a quite location and a little away from the 'nightlife' and main touristy restaurants. But the shopping malls and other attractions... I stayed at this guest house for twenty nights. It's positioned conveniently inside the old city, close to several good restaurants, and the lotus shopping mall. The rooms are clean, the beds not too hard. The bathroom is dated but clean. Breakfast is ok but a little spartan for Europeans. The staff are very friendly and speak good English. Gai... More

This guesthouse is very good value and has beautiful Lanna architecture, away from the busy town and cosy. The hosts were very friendly and helpful (they also provide airport transfer service) and provided welcome drink. When you wake up in the morning, there's a beautiful sunrise view with birds chirping in the background. Spacious, Wi-fi is fast, TV had English... More

This is a very nice, no frills guest house run by an extremely helpful and friendly city. It is located on the western edge of the old city, so you'll have to walk a bit to the bigger tourist attractions to the east. But, it is also much more quiet and less touristy. So, it all depends on what you're... More

The Red Hibiscus is showing its age ever more than me and its location may not be the best in Chiang Mai, but the service was brilliant. We spent three days (2 nights) there and the manager Gay was extraordinarily helpful and fun. She organised our flights to Bangkok, our tours, massage etc etc etc. At one stage she was... More
