I have stayed there for several, days on two occasions. Gone to the cooking school both times. I liked it so well that I am going again in Sept. Or Oct. and plan on staying for a month. The down side, instant coffee. The up side? Starbucks is Just one block away.

So, we arrived in Chiang Mai at like 8 AM after a lengthy flight and an even lengthier train trip. We had not booked anything in advance so we checked Lonely Planet for some good ideas in our price range (not really shoe string but not fancy either). The description of this place looked interesting so we took an (overpriced... More

A great place which is centrally located; it is an oasis of sorts within a storm of activity. Walking Street is merely steps away, Night Bazaar a 10-minute walk, bars surround the neighbourhood. And yet it is extremely quiet and one could easily think they were in a small town when on the grounds. Rooms vary in price and comfort;... More

The review below is bang on! This place should have pre-booking. First come first served system is insane! We turned up here at 7am and had to wait for the gates to open, then the manager to arrive, then for people to check out, or maybe not - just keep waiting, if you like, if not - the manager doesn't... This guesthouse came well recommended. I tried to book on their website and they said they don't take advanced bookings. I booked a different hotel for a couple nights hoping to change to this guesthouse. I went to the guesthouse IN PERSON the DAY BEFORE I wanted to check in, and the manager/proprietor would barely even talk to me. He... More

Ok, this "first showed first served" is a nightmare. If you arrive there before 11am, it's too early, if you show up after 12pm then it's too late and it's already full! BUT the cool things with this system is that you can decide until the very last minute if you stay or not (until the check out at 12pm),... More

I stayed for 2 wks - no complaints and in no rush to leave. Spacious room with private bathroom and terrace. Cash only accepted 550b per night B and B (tea/coffee, fruit, eggs and toast for breakfast - unfortunately you cannot book ahead so need to pitch up and hope someone is checking out. We got in 2nd attempt. Poor... More

You almost need a machete to get to your room the gorgeous garden is so luxuriant! And for Baht 450 the double room was large, well appointed and very clean - a bargain as it included a simple but adequate breakfast. Besides value for money, good food (an excellent healthy vegetarian buffet is available for dinner), free computer use and... More

Stayed here for 5 days with a friend, a record for me. Nice well priced room, really good atmosphere to the place with a beautiful green garden where i watched beautiful squirrels all morning ( only draw back is it attracts mozzies) and a traditional feeling main house where breakfast is served and the delicious veggie buffet ( extra 100... The rooms were very unique and interesting and quite cheap for how big there were. The gardens were cool too I loved walking through them. I was hoping it to be more of a social place but met hardly any people here. Some of the staff were lovely and others were very cold like the people who served breakfast (which... More
