Friendly Staff, good location, and great wifi. We stayed there for our honeymoon. Dhoo (tour advisor) was very helpful and friendly. We stayed three nights and one of the nights we decided to go to Mae Jo to play golf. They set up the tee time for us and offered a shuttle service. She also set us up for a... More

I spent 3 weeks at Galare Guesthouse with my fiancee in August, 2014 and absolutely loved it. It's a beautiful property in a quiet spot next to the Ping River. Our room was clean, comfortable, and very pleasant. We especially liked having access to a table and chairs looking over the garden on the covered balcony outside our room. It... More

I stayed with my mother for 3 nights here, the rooms were basic but comfortable with soft beds. Good air con, and on the second level. Breakfast menu was nice and convenient. Travel desk was very helpful. Tom was very helpful in helping us oragnise a day trip to see a lot of different attractions. Its very easy to book... More

I spent 5 very comfortable nights here. Basic facilities, yet some of the best 'home-cooked' meals I had in Thailand in the river garden restaurant. Spacious room with sat TV and wifi. The guesthouse accommodated an eclectic mix of travellers, from backpackers to retirees. Excellent location on the river - on one side, the night markets, the other side-the Warorot... More

This well established place was lovely. Great cafe overlooking the river, such helpful staff. Their tour guides brilliant. Safe deposit and computer at reception.Lovely garden to relax in. Room are small but big enough too.Try a boat cruise for a couple of hours, you get picked up at the hotel, on the river!

Great guest house next to Ping River walking distance to the night market and center of town. No pool. Spotlessly clean, breakfast lunch and dinner service in covered open air setting. Great for budget travelers. Wonderful helpful staff.

Unfortunately the advertising belies reality. We found the room overpriced & not clean...dirty floors/ pillows smelt / bed linen stained. All the staff seemed to be asleep or close to it. Have never done a bad review before but "Galare"just failed on all fronts.

Situated right next to the river, away from the bustle of downtown, it's a lovely little guest house. Friendly staff, good clean rooms, wifi and average breakfast. A short walk across the bridge to the riverside bars, or 5-10 minutes to the inner walls. Absolutely no complaints.

Lovely, cold, efficient air conditioning was so welcome after returning from outings each day. All the decor is rather dated but this part of the charm of Galare. Room was clean, big and comfortable. Free water provided and available as well from a chilled water filter on the verandah which was great to see. Wifi was a bit slow at... More

Marvelous popular budget accommodation with very friendly honest easy going and hard working staff.(a few baht is considerate for them) It is a very short walk from Galare to some of the best food and Jazz in the old city if you like to stroll and take in the sights or cheap as chips if the Galare calls a tuktuk....
