Big, charming room. Good AC. Friendly staff. Near to bar street, restaurants and night market area. Close enough to old town's busiest side. Unlimited refills on water. I was paying more for worse elsewhere. Moved here and was very happy. No breakfast included. Go to My Place for awesome brekkie or its possible to buy breakfast in Galare's scenic riverside... More

Stayed a week on advise of friends who do this annually. Great find, cheap, clean, friendly, close to everything, markets opposite, . Only problem is neighborhood Tom cats fighting during the night, but not much the Galare can do about that . Would stay again. Ask for 2nor 3rd floor to avoid mossies.

Stayed over in August gor 6 days and 5 nights. Family and i had an excellent stay. Management and staff were very friendly. They will treat you like family. Everytime we go back to this hotel is like being greeted by your own relatives. Rooms are more than enough for a traveller. Great wifi connection, tv, refrigerator, fan, aircondition, full... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights. We had a wonderful stay. The room was very clean, shower had good pressure, ac was great and had a king sized bed. No bugs or creepy crawlers. It is a quick walk to the night market. It located on the "river" but its not the cleanest water or greatest view.... More

Following the reviews in Tripadvisor we got a room for three nights in Galare. Pros: - staff is really nice and they are really helpful. - it is near China Town and the night market. - Rooms are nice. Maybe you find me picky, but thats my opinion... Cons: - it is not that quiet as it was described in... More

Super friendly staff. Great location to night markets. Rooms are simple and clean, everything that you need if you're not planning to spend all day in your room as most people will be out and about exploring. Everything worked. Beds were comfy. I would recommend this place anytime!

Booked in on return from Siem Reap to give time to reposition. Walking distance from night market and a mosque (and Fatima resto and its delicious burgers and lovely salads). Safe Garden Overpriced breaky at river-view resto Small room Inconvenient wifi sign-in Friendly reception staff Animal activists: two aquariums house two big fish that have overgrown their homes. I doubt... More

Faithful companion and I (me 71, her close behind) lodged her for 11 days in February at the start of two months independent travel in SE Asia. This hotel is an excellent value, particularly for the independent, self-motivated traveler. The hotel is located on the Ping River, just five minutes walk from the Night Market or Chinatown. The Old City,... More

I booked this guesthouse on the recommendation of a friend who has lived in Chiang Mai as an expat for many years. It is a little gem. Affordable rates, friendly staff who speak excellent English, the Galare Guesthouse is set on the banks of the Ping River. I booked one week initially and have just extended my booking for another.... More

We enjoyed our stay at Galare. The location was very nice and set back from the noisy streets of Chiang Mai. The rooms were fine and good value. Small garden available to guests. You can't go wrong here. One thing that really put me off though was that we arrived after a long day of travel and the first thing... More
