after reading the previous review, I was a bit worried about the hotel, but to my surprise it was a pleasant experience during my stay from 11/12/2014 to 15/12/2014, it is very clean and very spacious, the shower and air-con are too good. the location is so good just a few minutes you can reach the night bazaar and all... Having read some of the other reviews I went in with low expectations, but arriving at the lobby I had a surge of confidence it felt much nicer than expected. But that soon depreciated to disgust. This is a 5 star lobby in a 1 star hotel too. The two fools at the check in counter, despite me printing my... More

I stayed here with friends for a few days in November. The rooms are quite tired, and the breakfasts ok. All in all pretty good value. My room hadn't had a good clean before we checked in, but was fine the next day without me mentioning it. Good position for the centre of town. Ok for a budget.

We went to Chiang Mai the week of the lantern festival and most hotels were booked out. I think this hotel was rated a 4 star but I would say a 3 star at best. We had one of their best rooms which was very ordinary indeed. Very old hotel and the best way of describing it is "it's tired".... More

This is one of the dirtiest hotels I have ever been to. When I arrived to the first room allocated, there were left over packs of crisps and a very filthy toilet. The light switches all had black fingerprints all over them and the curtains clearly showing they had never been washed... I asked to be moved. The second room... More

I have travelled the world extensively and can say, this is by far the dirtiest hotel I have ever been to. The first room given had left over packs of crisps left and a dirty bathroom when I arrived. The switches to turn on the lights had dirty finger prints, and the furniture was in disrepair. I asked to be... More

If it wouldn't be about the location there would be nothing good on that place. It's old and not maintened - you're always waiting that a hord of bugs are running over the bed. They not even provide Hangers in the ward and there are not possibilities to hang something in the bathromm (in the whole room) not even for... More

My wife and I spent one evening at the Star Hotel, Chiang Mai. Although we had booked for 3 nights we checked out after one! The hotel carpet, foyer, lifts, hallways and rooms is very badly stained. The room furniture is chipped, old and dated and their is no swimming pool. The manager and staff were friendly and accommodating. The one... More

I only stayed here for one night but it had everything I needed. Apart from a pool but you can literally go next door and use the centara pool for 6 pounds for the whole day if the whether is nice. You can tell that this hotel was once very nice indeed and I think it just needs a bit... More
