The night market is just infront of the Hotel Suriwongse. Halal food is just around the corner. There is a Hidayahtul mosque near by many shops sells halal food - all within walking distance. The hotel also provides sightseeing tours packages more

I had the pleasure to stay at the Suriwong hotel for a week in October on business. What a hotel ! The service is fantastic , The rooms for the price of the hotel is reasonable and breakfast is good as well. The hotel is near the red light district and night bazaar. It is located in the town area... more

I'm sure the Suriwongse Hotel was nice...in 1955. Judging from the decor and condition of the rooms, It doesn't look like it's been updated since then. There were stains on the carpet, sheets, and even the fabric cover of the information booklet. There was dust on the headboard, which I suppose couldn't be helped since the furnishings were disintegrating from... more

Right in the middle of the night bazaar, opoosite the Le Merdien. We stayed for a 4 nights. Depending on where your room is facing (rs was facing the night bazaar) it can get rather noisy at night. The hotel is old, there were mosquitoes in the room. Buffet breakfast items were looks repeated after the seond day. Will probably... more

I only stayed here one night but the room was OK - decent sized bed and bathroom. Not much of a view but the hotel is very central and right next to the night market which is nice. The price was VERY affordable and the breakfast buffet was huge - including a chef cooking eggs to order. Not a fancy... more

we were on a 4 nights 5 day tour to chiang mai, and we were abhorred by the condition of the hotel, there were dead bug bodies smudged in the washroom wall, and no one bothered to clean it. the fleas were having a feast out of our bodies. I ended up with rashes, bites over my body. though, the... more

Straight out of the mid-60's, with a low-ceilinged long lobby full of lovely wood carvings and rooms with cute radios set into the bedside tables. My understanding is that this hotel was Chiang Mai's Grande Dame when it opened, and the staff still continues the tradition of smiling and attentive service. The rooms are spotless and comfortable but they haven't... more

This hotel was definitely the low-light of our trip to Thailand. We found several species of bugs present in our rooms, including a kiwi-sized cockroach, and the staff was curt, impolite, and unaccomodating. The breakfast, while expansive, was poor in quality. This hotel is in GRAVE need of remodelling and upgrade. The only positive is its location, directly across from... more

We stayed at Suriwongse last Jan and we had a terrible esperience: we should stay 4 nights...we stayed one night. The only positive thing is the staff, very gentle and very efficent. Let's talk about the room: at first sight nothing wrong, but after staying a little bit we discovered tons of dust everywehere. Maybe it's beacuse is old, maybe... more

We had previously stayed at the Suriwongse in 2006. This stay was for 4 nights 26.12-29.12. We stayed in a suite on the 6th floor again very spacious, clean, large bathroom. The lift goes to the 5th floor then you have to use the stairs to get to the 6th floor. However, this was never a problem. The staff at reception were... more
