Aree!! Thank you SO MUCH for your incredible hospitality in Chiang Mai. Aree went 100% out of her way to organise tours for me every day. She made great suggestions for things I might like to do and always kept an eye out for her guests. She throws great parties and I miss her beautiful dogs already. I would absolutely... More

As a solo traveller this place was ideal. Ari, the host, was the most hospitable and welcoming person I've ever met. She threw a small BBQ party for someone's birthday who was staying, and makes an effort for everyone to meet eachother. She's also great at booking activities and transport based on whatever it is you're interested in doing. The... More

What a lovely place! The owner, Aree, is the epitome of the hostess with the mostess: she has the rare ability to make you feel very welcome and at ease since she’s genuinely sociable, friendly, and puts a lot of heart into running the place. You can book any course from here and trust her advice. You get free tea... More

I stayed for 5 days, end of November, and after visting Pai, decided to stay at Living Place 1 again in December for a few more days. The hostel is run by Aree, who is a genuinely nice and helpful Thai, who always try to make everyone feel welcome, during their stay. Has good advice when trying to decide what... More

I stayed here somewhere in march this year for a few days. The place is run by Aree and Vee and as you can read in practically all the other comments, these people truly are the sweetest, and if not the most free-think Thai people you are going to meet. Accomodation is decent and very cheap as well. Can't recommend... More

Where to I start..great location - just a few minutes walk from Tapae gate. The dorms were clean and the bath facilities were basic and a little rough round the edges but clean. The standout it Aree, the host, she's kind and helpful when you're deciding when and what to do in Chiang Mai, of which there is a lot... More

Great staff! friendly, helpful, clean, great location, free coffee and wifi! Perfect for solo travellers to meet new people, has a good common area where everyone can gather and hangout and have fun together. Aree is fantastic! And the 3 little dogs are so cute and friendly!

Beautiful place with amazing vibe thanks to owner Aree. More than just a place to stay. Aree knows everything about the activities in the area and she arranges them for you! Very clean, fans and A/C, free coffee and tea. Smoking area. Drinks in the fridge. Cheap. AMAZING DAYS we spent here!

I didn't want to leave! Aree is the perfect host, and was great at introducing you to new people. I met a ton of people here and was almost reluctant to continue on to my next destination. The rooms were clean and cool, the a/c was strong. The bathrooms were okay, but not terrible. There is plenty of places to... More
