Unlike a lot of hotels out of city centre, I found the transport service for this hotel not as good as many. Only a couple of times to get in and no lifts back. So it does add to the overall costs, as taxis and Tuktuks did charge quite a lot to take us back. There were no local restaurants... More

This place is beautiful, as soon as we arrived we were welcomed by beautiful smiles. The room was very nice and romantic. The staff were always so helpful. They supplied everything we needed, free shuttles every day to the city, fresh towels if we wanted to go swimming, bicycles, tour information, etc. We felt very welcome and would definately stay... Unfortunately during my stay there is construction going on nearby. 9 am and you can hear them breaking the ground then the whole room is vibrated. The junior suite room is big and clean. Floor is tricky though, always slippery so not recommend for eldery or small children. Living room is on ground floor sharing with another suite in the... More

Stayed here for about 5 nights. It was a really nice place, about 10 mins tuk tuk ride from Chiang Mai centre. Staff were really friendly and helpful and the room was always clean and had a villa-like feel. Tuk tuks were between 100 & 150 baht from the city centre.

I stayed in room 211 for four nights. The good part is the great building. Beautiful, interesting and quirky. It feels like an old Thai palace with lots of rooms around old courtyards and gardens. They have then added all the modern conveniences but in a way that does not upset the historic feel. Then they have furnished it with... More

As mentioned previously, the hotel is quite far from the main strip but as long as you have a business card from the hotel with the directions we never had too much trouble. The setting and rooms were gorgeous and the staff were so friendly. Would definitely recommend for a quieter and more intimate stay.

We booked this hotel after discovering the hotel we were supposed to stay in was terrible. The athitan was one of my favorite hotels I have ever stayed in! It is really quiet and peaceful. It has a lot of charm and feels luxurious. The pool was clean and a good temperature. We really liked how the rooms were decorated.... More

Stayed here for three nights, I liked the whole set up, the place made me feel like I had stepped back in time whilst being totally modern especially at the check in area with all the antique things. The location is good, not far from the night bazaar and right on the river Ping.My room was found through a garden with... The hitel is very quiet, and the staff is worth 5 stars, as they will be always carefull for you, more than you expect. Didnt always see that on a 5 stars hotel... Breakfast is nice, fresh and with good choice, at a reasonnable price. Pool is by the river, with large sun chairs. Free shuttle at 6pmand 7:30pm, or... More

We stayed at four nice hotels in Thailand, and the Athiatan was our favorite. For the most part, the others were very comfortable, modern and clean, but they could have been anywhere in the world. They had little of the Thai charm that I had hoped to experience in Thailand. The Athitan was a clear exception. This hotel, on the... More
