We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. The location is good (walking distance from the market). The reception is very nice, the rooms were a bit old and view was not much. Breakfast was VERY GOOD - a big selection.

Entrance and reception is elegant enough to make you feel like you’re on vacation but the room prices are affordable enough to give you that extra cash for another day at the mall. Rooms are uncarpeted, spacious, and clean, with a chic Thai oak and maroon design even for their cheapest rooms. Aircon and lights all fully adjustable, internet is... More

The hotel is older by Chiang Mai standards and they nickel and dime you for everything. They have a notice that they are proud of the recently installed wifi. This is amazing as everything in Thailand comes with free wifi, massage parlor a, restaurants, everything. What the Empress doesn't tell you in their announcement is they charge for wifi. The... Impress with the service. Money well spent at hotel. Free wifi with easy access. From the time you arrive till departure, service was never denied to me. Ask and it shall be delivered. So far away from home, yet so comfortable. Staff very dedicated to duty.

The Empress is a good choice for all who don`t require four or five star luxury during their stay in Thailand`s second largest city. The medium saized rooms offer comfortable beds, clean bathroom, refrigerator, multilingual cable tv and in most cases free wifi. Unfortunately there was no safe in the room and one needs to contact reception for opening a... More

I was welcomed by very attentive and efficient staff of the hotel. Then I was given an upgrade of the room plus a free meal. The room was lovely and clean. Location of the hotel is good - food, massage, Art museum and night markets are within walking distance. Local transport like 'tuk tuk' or taxi are easily available if... More

Just 10mins walk to the famous shopping streets. Means this hotel exclusive and quiet. Staying 10th floor out of the 21 floors is good enough to view the buildings surrounding . next to the 3D art museum .get a internet packages upon arrival 1day 100baht, 7days 300baht .

We were in this hotel for 3 nights. It's a big one which is located at 10min from night market by walking. Very clean, big room with a nice staff. Every evening you'll have your flower on your bed to wish you a good night. Breakfast is really good too. Plenty of choices, from fresh fruits to sausage and omelette... More

I stayed here for three nights during a congress we attended at the conference centre next door. The Thai company we work with booked us into this hotel out of convenience for the location. Generally, the hotel is looking a bit dated and old, but at least everything seems to be working. Especially for the price, you will get what... More

We stayed at the Empress for 4 nights en route to Koh Samui and its target market would seem to be the Japanese and Americans. Location wise, its off the main road meaning its quieter but within easy walk of the main markets, the old city and river if you don't want to get a tuk tuk. The hotel is... More
