This is an old property but has been well maintained and is managed very well. The staff are very well trained and provide excellent service. The location is central in town with plenty of transport available to go places. The hotel arranged something nice for us daily, from a free chocolate pack, to small local handicraft gifts. Very thoughtful and... More

The Empress Hotel is showing its age a little around the edges, but even so it's a bargain compared to other high end properties in the neighborhood. We booked through Agoda and got a very reasonable price, with very good buffet breakfast included. We stayed on the 16th or 17th floor and were very pleased with our room. Not huge,... More

We stayed two nights at this hotel. The room was on the 8th floor, overlooking the pool and was spacious, clean and comfortable. The pool had plenty of sunloungers and poolside bar. The restaurant had a wide choice of buffet at breakfast and dinner. Couples beware! - we were treated to a Valentine-style dessert, gifts and flowers, much to our... More

i have stayed in this hotel before anf found it very good. Today, it's still one off the best in Chiang Mai. The breakfast is as good as many five star hotels and the breakfast room is bright and cheery. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are getting a little dated but are clean and well serviced. It... More

Stayed 3 nights and had booked a deluxe but on arrival we were given a free upgrade to an executive room on the 16th flr. The room was very comfortable with a flat screen tv though choice of channels was small, other upgraded amenities were good too. Bathroom is a little on the small side but fitted out well. Nice... This was our second stop for three nights of our honeymoon. When you walk into the hotel its very impressive. Staff very polite and happy to help. The room was a decent size with a massive bed. The decor is not to everyones taste but it was clean and in keeping with the hotel. We ate in the hotel with... More

Having just spent two weeks in the south of Thailand staying at the Sheraton in Krabi and the amazing Pimalai Resort in Koh Lanta, my wife and I were a little apprehensive about our choice of hotel for the first stage of our 'northern trek'...we needn't have been! Absolutely fantastic hotel with good sized rooms and a very good breakfast... More
