The hotel is located about 15 minutes to town. The area is ok but nothing special (a bit rundown but seemed safe). The hotel was decked for Christmas - which I personally find very funny all over this Buddhist country. The rooms - there are still some smoking rooms (got put in one and moved - gross) - TV still... Older building. Relatively quiet rooms. Close enough to the Old City but not in party central. Good markets and temples within walking distance. No free Wi-Fi. Quite a small bathroom. Good breakfast with friendly restaurant staff. Good water pressure in the shower. Fully kitted gym and nice pool.

This has to be the best hotel I have ever stayed in for staff service - very friendly and genuine. Lovely gifts on arrival and complementary meal for guests who stay for a week. The rooms and facilities were very nice and the reception area is beautiful. A great little find - great value for money and perfectly situated to... More

Stayed for 3 nights whilst touring the North of the Country, check in was easy & the rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice. staff were very friendly and the location is good for the night market and the centre is not too far away, tuk tuks are available from the front of the... This was the last hotel we stayed at in Thailand, after touring for 2 weeks - stayed in six hotels in that time. Out of all the hotels, this was the most mediocre. Room was tidied, but not really cleaned, the bed linen was worn and threadbare, and the table top under the tv was thick with dust. We were... More

Ive been staying at this hotel for nearly 8 years now on yearly visits and Im pleased to see they are still striving to provide friendly service and a homely environment. The staff are great, for example we got to breakfast 10 minutes after finish time and they let us grab a whole lot of food and sit back out in... We stayed at the Empress Hotel as part of our Honeymoon. We had a few glitches when checking in but these were sorted once the language issue was overcome. The Hotel is a bit dated but clean. Breakfast was very tasty and a good selection. Staff were very accommodating with a later check out time which meant we could have... More

That hotel will probably fit you if: - you like old Thai style environment (wooden all around); - you have big conference; - you are above 50-60 y.o.; - you are not so demanding to services. Pros. - good breakfast; - large parking; - clean room; - helpful staff. Cons. - overall hotel looks tired; - they don't have free... More

Very attentive staff with a few communication glitches. Room clean, outdated, very hard mattress. 15 min walk from night market, easy access to other parts of city via tuck tuck vehicles. Shower with poor design that leaks on floor but does go into drain in the floor.

This hotel is probably best for groups, it is not business friendly, the internet never works, the gym only opens at 10 am and the rooms are in great need of a refreshment unless you like the 60's. Still, the service is very good, the beds firm but comfortable and the air conditioning is working and not too noisy. The... More
