The rooms seem a bit outdated, the wifi is simply horrible; breakfast is reasonable. The lobby is quite noisy, probably because everybody spends their time there, where the wifi works! The place is 10 mins walking from the night market, but that's probably the best thing about the hotel. The staff is nice and helpful. Otherwise - you can easily... More

Stayed here with my partner for 7 nights at the end of september. From the moment I called to arrange the airport transfer till I left I was treated like a king. The level of service and value for money simply cannot be matched anywhere in thailand. Have traveled extensively through thailand and nothing has come close. They gave me... More

I was with a part of a large group that was staying at this fine, older hotel. The Empress is a hotel and conference center that was truly a full-service facility. The food was good, the service was excellent and the rooms were cool and clean.

just like chiang mai, a city that turned drug trafficing to tourist trafficing, the empress is a hotel to avoid. and they charge you for wifi. i would skip northern thailand alltogether. a big tourist trap, where the thai masseus, probably the only semi-authentic experience you might encounter.

We were here for 3 nights and it was nice. The hotel is near the night market as well as massage places! Tuktuk rides are easy access, the concierge can help you with that. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. We were spoiled the first night over dinner with flowers and gifts! They even have a welcome bag with... More

Stayed on the 17th floor. Room was spacious and clean. Complimentary fruit basket, crackers, chips, chocolates. Breakfast was adequate. Location wise not to bad. Five minutes by taxi to Loi kroh road area. One minus would be the slow wifi. Otherwise I would recommend this hotel

I have attended several meetings in Chiang Mai that were hosted at thi hotel. The hotel does a great job accommodating large groups and hosting meetings. The food is consistently good and the service at the hotel is great. The hotel is located within walking distance of the night market and tourist areas. If you are looking to plan a... More
