Stayed at the Royal Princess over 3 nights as part of an Aussie Tour Group to experience Chiang Mai’s colourful Floral Festival and the hotel was perfectly located for this as it was only a short walk to view the famous Parade. The foyer area has a much higher star rating than I could possibly give our room for although... More

What a culture shock. Seemingly a "really good" hotel, not! Breakfast poor. Pool area overshadowed by buildings.smack in the middle of the cities market. Noise till way after 1am in the street below my room. Unfortunately some of our party got food poisoning on the flight from Bangkok to Chang Mai and this may have some bearing on our stay.... More

Royal Princess is situated just opposite night bazaar, so in easy reach of food and shopping. The room we had for 7 nights was generously proportioned, with good beds and a fabulous shower. Wifi was included and worked very well. There is a lovely pool area to relax between bouts of sightseeing. We did not have breakfast booked, so tried... More

When we first arrived we were impressed by the lobby and were promptly greeted with a refreshing drink- it was very lovely. When we were brought to our room and exited the elevators we noticed a damp/moldy smell that didn’t improve when we got into our room plus the room wasn’t fully cleaned. We called down to the front desk... More

The Royal Princess Hotel in in a great location, close to the Old town and directly next to the night bazaar. The reception area and lobby are bright and clean, but the rooms do not reflect the communal areas. Whist adequate the rooms are quite small and could do with a little TLC. To summaries this is a nice hotel... More

This hotel couldn't be anymore convenient. Everything you could need in Chiang Mai is a walk or quick tuk tuk away. The service was great and the ladies at the tour desk are so helpful, they were amazing. The lobby is beautiful but the rooms are kinda dingy. The beds are like cardboard, the decor feels very institutional and the... More

Location is nice but the noise at nights (from music in the vicinity) is terrible (double glazing perhaps?), Breakfast is "running" itself - no management, empty plates in the buffet, terrible burned coffee etc. - and no one to speak to. No porter to help with luggage and so on. So definitely not highly rated.
