We wanted to stay at this hotel. The rooms look great. However, the management needs to change. I was squirted with a super-soaker water gun while standing INSIDE at the front desk by the MANAGER. He squirted me in my face and chest and would not stop (although I asked him several times and tried to push his gun away)... more

We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of April after having stayed for 3 nights in a 5* hotel Bangkok. We were prepared for it to be a lot less luxurious but in some ways it was a pleasant surprise but it was let down by minor niggles. We were offered a room on the third floor and... more

While we booked superior rooms at Royal Princess, we asked for an upgrade to Deluxe since the sup rooms were small and didn’t have a view. The hotel did that without any supplements. The deluxe room is highly recommended since it's more spacious with 2 queen beds & the top floor also had a better view. The hotel is well... more

Great location, lovely hotel, great service throughout. Our only issue was when we tried to extend our stay by 2 nights we had to call our agent in Ireland to do it as the girls at reception couldn't do it for us. They were exceptionally friendly, but we felt like they were only trained in how to check in/check out... more

Reception upon arrival was courteous and check in handled efficiently. Room was fair, although our group all commented on the peculiarly low bed and chairs set. I would imagine this might be a challenge for the elderly. Room itself was standardly equipped for this level of hotel, but a little on the small side. It was also somewhat gloomy and... more

My partner and I stayed at the Royal Princess in Chiang Mai for 3 nights. I was told about the night market in Chiang Mai before leaving the UK and when we arrived at our hotel I couldn't believe are luck! It was right in the middle of it. By day it's mostly a quiet street but by night it... more

we stayed in this hotel for 8 nights in feb 2009. It was fantastic from start to finish. the rooms are clean, well maintained and roomy. Service is very good and the communal areas are lovely. We used the conscierge facilities a lot to book trips and a spa day and found the staff to be very helpful. On return... more

royal princess hotel in chiang mai is absolutely centrally located in the middle of the famous night bazaar, in the main street of the city. i had a room on the back and i would advise other travellers to do so as well, as front rooms could have considerable noise from all the stalls on the street active from 4/5pm... more

We stayed in Chiang Mai for 3 days this January. We loved Chiang Mai, such a great atmosphere, particularly walking street. If you choose to stay in the Princess you will benefit from a great location but the hotel itself is below par and you are paying a premium for the location. Nothing too awful just a musty damp smell... more
