We got back from 3 nights at this so-so hotel. If not the bargain price, I wouldn't take it. As mentioned, the prices are extremely high for all hotel extras - the coffee place across the street Doi Tong is fine and for a fraction of the price of towns' most expensive breakfast. more

I got a room at the Amari for just $37. A/C, TV, a balcony overlooking their two pools, it was a great deal. It's a bit outside the old town, but a $2 tuk-tuk ride will get you there. The pool was excellent. The hotel can arrrange taxis, songthaews, laundry and internet access, BUT they charge ridiculous rates for everything.... more

Rooms were large with balcony - although we did find the bathroom needed updating. The hotel itself was very cozy and homely - there is a large foyer with settees and chairs, and a piano bar area.
