Found out that there was a good price on this hotel so I tried it. I was a little away from city centre, but since transportation at Chaing Mai is so cheap, then it was OK. Myself and a friend stayed at Novotel as part of a package deal we purchased in Bangkok.The only major complaint was that it was not really close to any nightlife.Other than that,the room was very clean and the pool was a good place to unwind after the elephant park,tiger park,orchid farm tours.I would stay there again if I go back. more

I have stayed at the Mercure many times when it was branded Novotel. The Novotel was showing its age and either a major renovation or down grading in status was needed. nice place to stay...good deal on breakfast by buying prepaid coupon. everything one needs is there in the room otherwise the hotel furnishing is in average state, needs to be refurbished... bit away location but value for money...helpful staff. more

The staff were always very helpful including leaving our baggage when we went to the Elephants and also returning the certificates from the camp we accidentally left at the Hotel when we departed back home to Aust. Typical Novetel with excellent service located just 5 minutes from the old part of Chiang Mai. Definitely a good place to stay when visiting Chiang Mai. more
