I lived 7 months in a so-called luxury room. The Resort area, the rooms, the furniture, the showers are old, worn, damaged partly and dirty. The staff is rude and complaints are ignored. Even complaints to the owners were unsuccessful. Even when repairs will be, it is worse than before. Tip: Better repair itself. High electric power and water bills.... More

Chiang Mai isn't big you can get where you want to go easily & cheaply anyway so this is a great find. Nimmanhimman the popular trendy area with lots of cafés bars and restaurants is a 10 min walk away too. The rooms are spacious clean & pleasant and get cleaned regularly. Crisp white bed linen & towels, AC, en... More

the staff are pleasant and are english speakers and have nothing to do with the owners or the world instability but they are telling us a 200 baht key fee is for use of key and non returnable. So hold on to those keys.

This residence in Chiang Mai is ok just if you have low budget and use the room only to sleep. The only good point is the position, 3 minutes to the centre and you have the big mall just in front. The level is really basi: the bed is orrible, like sleeping on the floor, old and dirty with nothing... More

Unbeatable location (if you want direct access to one of the largest department shopping centres in Chiang Mai). My wife (and 3 young kids) stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment for a month. Yes it was too small for 3 kids, but would have been fine for 1 or 2 kids. However we had a problem free stay, the location... More

This apartment building has a "rough" reputation on the internet (see many complaints posted in thaivisa.com, Chiang Mai forum...like having difficulty getting deposits back and having to contact the tourist police). First-time travelers fall for its location, slick web site and reviews they get residents to write, but there are many better options nearby within walking distance (this is quite... More

This is probably one of the better value places you will find in Chiang Mai with a gym and a pool. Both have seen better days but are usable. Great location next to the Kad Suan Kaew shopping centre and you can easily walk to Nimman Road or into the city centre. Rooms are spacious with basic furnishings. There isn't... More

We stayed here in a 1 bedroom apartment for 1 month for 13,000 baht (about $A420) - BUT - we were told this included electricity but on checkout we were told that it wasn't. The apartment was very close to everything that you need in Chiang Mai and just a short Songtau or Tuk Tuk ride into town. We had... More

The Huay Kaew is a perfect choice for a family or solo trip to Chiang Mai. Let's start with the price: 500 baht for a studio room and 1,000 baht for a 1 bedroom. This does not include breakfast, but not to worry because directly across the street is the Amazing Sandwich restaurant which serves the best western style breakfast... More
