If you wish to be in the centre of Chiang Mai, than this hotel is not for you. But if you would like to try a peaceful riverside hotel with Moroccan decoration then this would be a good choice. The staff very friendly, rooms are large, well decorated and clean, and the bed very comfortable. Very nice riverside garded and... More

The views, the style of the hotel and the service are the main attractions. Staff was very helpful in solving some minor problems promptly. Thus enhancing our stay. The maroccan style of the hotel is a fresh breathe of inspiration, especially when walking through the river-gardens.

I've not stayed at the hotel but have eaten at the Marrakech Restaurant several times. The Hotel Grounds are very impressive & beautiful. The Merrakech features Moroccan, Thai & International cuisine. Their Moroccan cuisine is not to be missed. I must add, that along with excellent food, their service is above & beyond. An outdoor setting gives a great view... More

Spent 6 nights (low season) at this hotel with my mom and we are so pleased with its environment and services. Accessibility: located near the Ping River bank, 10-min from downtown. Not a very convenient location but a quiet place to stay. Free one way shuttle bus everyday to Warorot Market, Thapae Gate (Downtown) and Night Baazar (weekdays)/ Sun&Sat walking... More

Stunning tropical garden leading to a large salt water swimming pool next to a huge free gym for guests. Added bonus of a Massage centre and a free shuttle to the Night Market, however you need to get back on your own , do take a map for the Taxi. The rooms and decor are impressive , and for the... Stay at the Room 309 during Chiangmai short visit last week I said "Woww!!!" after getting into my room The room is so elegant so lovely and well decorated. The view of River Ping from my window is beautiful. Moroccan Style Boutique Hotel in the North of Thailand, at first, sounds a bit strange to me. But, I found that... More

THE BUILDING AND GARDEN LOOKS LOVELY however service is non existant. Miles out of town , only one shuttle a day, worst breakfast ever in Asia, no buffet, absolutely tastless so called Moroccan breakfast with no flavouring at all unless you want to put heinz chili sauce on it.Plastic jam, cardboard croissants and canned music. The internet took 5 hours... More

We have travelled extensively around Asia in the last 10 years and regard the Sheik Istana as the best hotel we have stayed in. We were their guests for 8 nights, and all members of staff treated us with much warmth and care, tending to our every need and ensuring we did not want for anything. The restaurant provided plenty... More
