My girlfriend and I booked 4 nights at the TJR boutique house in February based on positive reviews. We ended up leaving after the first night because the hotel was not at all up to our expectations. The good: -Great location in a quiet central location. -Breakfast was pretty good. -Spacious Room. -Room was clean. -Tour information. The Bad: -No... More

TJR Guesthouse offers you a good clean room in a handy location near the east gate in the old town. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and generous in size. Air con worked well, decent flow of hot water in the shower, complimentary water. Short walk to great spots to eat including in Soi 1 for less than... More

No more than a 30 min journey from the airport. You will find TJR down a side road from where the main Sunday market is held (next to the coffee club). We stayed in the only ground floor room and found it satisfactory. Although probably would have preferred a room higher as come the morning when other guests were going... More

Hotel has to be one of the best values in chiang mai. Conveniently located in the old city means most of the significant temples and sites are all within walking distance. Nong, the person who runs the hotel, is always happy to help with whatever is needed. The rooms are big, have a small patio and the in room wifi... More

Tjr was a nice clean small hotel... Nothing really bad with it but nothing amazing! Couple of negatives the view from the balcony was like fallen down shacks and the breakfast I found a bit oily and bland (but edible). On the positive side it was very central, walking distance to the whole city, it was very clean, the staff... More

Maybe it was the superlative comments related to this hotel that built up my expectations, but I did experience some disappointment with this hotel. It is not that anything specific is wrong with the hotel...though I could single out a rather sparse breakfast and terrible coffee as a particular negative, as well as a great deal of noise coming from... What a delightful jewel tucked away down a quiet lane, walking distance to sights, markets and restaurants. We particularly enjoyed being in the old quarter, not dependent on taxis. Our room was large and comfortable, nicely appointed and serviced daily. The staff, particularly Nong, was super and extremely helpful. The owner prepared the tastey morning meals to order and coffee,... More

TJR Boutique House surpassed all my expectations as I had no idea how this booking would end up turning out. My friend and I were greeted with such happiness and helpfulness, we loved the place right off the bat. Plus, the staff were extremely helpful in booking tours and suggesting sites and restaurants around the city, which all turned out... More

This is my third stay at this lovely hotel. Situated down a quiet soi right in the Old Town. A 5 minute stroll to the Thapae Gate and only 2 minutes to the weekly Walking Street market. The hotel is clean and well managed. The rooms are spacious and have all the traveler needs. No lift so be prepared for... More

I stayed 7 nights here and found this Boutique House excellent. I was travelling without my family and returning to Chiang Mai for a visit having lived and worked there 20 years ago. It was a great place to stay - so convenient. The lane where it is situated is so close to shops, markets, 7/11, transport on Tha Pae... More
