Inexpensive guesthouse in an old wooden house. They have WIFI. The guesthouse area was quite quiet in the daytime but in the evenings it was a bit problematic that people kept talking outside in the garden until late instead of doing that at the many bars nearby. So take your earplugs with you if staying here! Shared bathrooms were well... More

We found Chok Dee by accident and were lucky to get a room. Throughout our stay people kept coming to reception to be told than none were available. In a walled courtyard off the Soi Chok Dee has created a lovely relaxing outdoor space to relax, have a beer, socialise and chill out. There is a smoking and a non... More

First off the staff were amongst the nicest in Chiang Mai! After that it's downhill from there. The rooms have paper thin walls and were not clean. I found other peoples (plural) hair on the pillows. The dust level on the headboard was a bit thick for my liking :-/ On the bright side they were quite reasonable, the Woman... More

Stayed here for one night. The cost is very low, so there isn't much to expect. Simple rooms, shared bathrooms. Rooms are not that clean, bed isn't that comfortable. Showers work just fine, there is hot water. The guests and staff are what make this place great. Probably won't be back.

Good and quiet place. Room was really simple but clean. Bad think was that there was only one plug box for electricity. So if I wanted to charge my phone I could not use fan... etc. And showers and toilets were really clean. It was very quiet place when I was there.. and no bars in next door so you... More

Lovely garden to relax in and nice snacks are available. The staff are friendly and the rooms present excellent value. Nice high ceilings and large windows. A really nice place to spend a night or a week or more. The location is excellent in the old city with plenty off nice strolls and eateries to pass the time. It is... More

I just got in from a long night and I sat down on the bed and noticed a bug. Didn't mind it at first. Then I saw two more come from the end of the bed. I killed them all. Then I noticed little larvae which I thought were ants. It's 2am and I am unable to get ahold of... More

I really like the place. It's very quiet and at the same time very well situated (3 min walking from the small market and 7-10 min from the city center) And what I liked much was a very nice and cosy garden.

A lovely laid-back family-run guesthouse on Soi 6 road just inside the old city. It's on the same street as a Somphet street market so there's plenty of fresh fruit stalls and cheap places to eat close by - not that you need to go anywhere. Chok Dee serves some of the best coffee in town and the food is... More
