Excellent guesthouse just outside of Old town. There are bikes available and this is the best way to explore Old Town. Nat took care of us upon arrival. He made delicious breakfast each day with local products. We had pad tai, oats, rice with pumpkin curry and beautiful fresh fruit each morning. We stayed in deluxe suite which was quite... More

With a recommendation from one of Chiang Mai's long-time ex-pats, we should have expected we were in for a treat. But pleasing Mom, well that's a horse of a different color! From the first night, the place just felt comfortable, as the wonderful staff and owner made us feel right at home. Morning coffee and home-made breakfast only added to... More

The guesthouse was a lovely tranquil place. It had beautiful gardens and a wonderful manager who helped us plan our stay in Chiang Mai. The management were very accommodating and allowed us a late check out on our last day as our flights were in the afternoon. The breakfasts were amazing, mango sticky rice, Thai noodles and some wonderful fruit,... More

From the moment you walk through the gates at Santitham Guesthouse, you feel the calm. The property is full of lush greenery, which itself is calming. The plants and flowers are well-tended by Chon, one of the gentle and hard-working staff at the guesthouse (this is just one of his many efficient duties!) There are wonderful little touches all over... More

The owner has created a peaceful oasis in busy Chiang Mai. The site utilizes wonderful water elements that create a wonderful white noise all around. The breakfast each day was excellent, often consisting of fresh fruits, eggs, and even Thai dishes.

many times i have enjoyed this lovely place to stay. the chang puak area is where i enjoy the life in chiang mai. away from the overtly touristed, but not so far away that one of the free bikes available can't take you. food in the associated restaurant is very good as is the friendly staff that is always helpful.... Step off of the busy Chiang Mai street and pass through the gate of Santitham into a quiet courtyard with its audible water feature. Pressures of travel fall away as a soft-spoken American male voice says, "Welcome to Santitham." Serenity prevails from that point until the time you leave the guest house. I recommend the second-floor villa rooms with balconies... More

Good things: guest house comprises three houses in a quiet compound in a nice location well away from the tourist areas. Room very clean and good food in restaurant next door. Service very bad. I arrived after 16 hours of flying and airports. Pre-arranged airport pick up failed to happen and I had to take a public taxi. Arrived at... More

Once is a great while it seems as there is a confluence of events that seem to conspire to cause one of our guest to have a bad experience while visiting with us. This gentleman appears to have had one of those times. While we are always open to constructive feedback and valid criticism, there are always two sides to... More

This is one of the most delightful hotels I have had the pleasure to stay in. The garden is full of character, a wonderful place to sit and reflect or to wander thru and seek out many of its hidden secrets. Breakfast is often Thai style and is sourced from the restaurant next door which is part of the guest... More

From the 2 nights I was supposed to stay in Chiang Mai, I extended to 4 nights, all because I loved so much the Santitham Guesthouse that I did not want to leave. Difficult to enjoy more Chiang Mai than with this relaxed atmosphere in a very nice surrounding of Thai houses, bedrooms all with beautiful teak floor (remove your... More
