Sixty three year old backpacker. Stayed at the Lanna Lodge Hotel in Chiang Mai in 2013. (I'll keep carrying a max carry on size backpack as long as I have my strength.) I had to put down that I traveled in April 2014. That is as far back as this review page would let me go. But it was mid... More

When we come to Chiang Mai, we usually stay st The Royal Princess Hotel, this time we would try another accommodation, were we ever surprised, this Lodge is very very basic, room, bathroom, free WiFi and CLEAN ...THE BED......well, I think sleeping or laying on my dogs bed would have been more comfortable, way too hard, not firm.....HARD, no soft... Right in the heart of the city, but down a quiet street. Nice clean comfortable rooms, very obliging management and staff, they just can't do enough to ensure that you're happy. Nice breakfast and snacks and enjoyable place to have a relaxing beer. Very short walk to night market and huge selection of bars and restaurants. I shall return soon.

As I was staying in Hang-Dong area which is about 30 km. from Chiangmai City, for almost two years now I was ready for a change ! I went around Loi Kroh road to search for a decent and affordable place to stay for my last month here and I checked out many places. While visiting Loi Kroh temple my eyes... More

Before I write this review I do want to acknowledge that certain budget travelers would sacrifice many basic features for the sake of 100 baht (3$). I'm not one of those people. I came with my wife and was immediately put in place for my horrible choice. However we somehow got through our one night stay. Needless to say I... More

Let's start with the pros: - you can arrive as late as you want, someone is at the reception desk ready to welcome you. - there is an elevator. - the staff is ABSOLUTELY friendly. We arrived at 2 am and the guy at the front desk was sweet and patient with us, showing different rooms. Upon our departure, I... More

Fast wifi, hot water, friendly staff, fan, free computer use, small tv, small rooms but huge terrace, if you get a room at the end, and great views of the mountain. For 400baht I'd come back.

I found this hotel wandering around Chiang Mai. It is a little off the main road near the bargirl scene but is in a residential area and very isolated from all of that. It is about 200 meters to the main road. The hotel rooms are fairly small, but the hotel comes with free wifi which is pretty fast for... More
