Visited chiang mai last year dec 2014. The overall location of this hotel is good, walking distance to night market and old city. Room is spacious, comfortable stay. Front desk customer service is pleasant and good. However, dinning area is small. With repeated breakfast everyday. Pool is also small, the bar beside the pool is empty. Felt that this is... More

We stayed here for 1 night only and the room was surprisingly small. Tiny actually. What they lack in space, they made up by decorating the bed. One good thing is they offer a couple more complimentary snacks compared to other hotels. Location was good. We didn't use the hotel pool as it was quite oddly placed. Located right beside... More

We stayed at the De Chai for three nights on the Chiang Mai portion of our honeymoon. We absolutely loved it and wished we had stayed longer! The location was fantastic - on a small quiet alley but right in between both the Night Bazaar and the Old City. We walked everywhere from the hotel with no problems - helped... More

We had just flown up to Chiang Mai from Bangkok for a quick look to see what we thought of Chiang Mai and should have stayed much longer. The De Chai is a lovely hotel walking distance from the Old City in one direction and the night markets in the other. Towards the old city you walk through Tha Pae... More

This is by no means a luxury hotel but nonetheless we had a very enjoyable two-night stay there. Location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk away from a lot of restaurants, the old city, the night market and the river but the hotel is situated in a quiet side street that makes you think you could be in a... We booked this hotel because of the good recommendations on TripAdvisor. But we were disappointed. As we came into our room we noticed that the room was not clean. The floor, the frame of the bed an the closet were full of dust and black hairs (we're blonde). The window was dirty and the furniture was scratched up and had... More

The Bathroom was not cleaned properly I found a huge cockroach (the size of your index finger) in the tub on my last day Your feel like you are sleeping in the street. I was on the 2nd floor but would be woken up at night by every passing car or motorcycle. No sound insulation at all Good things about... More

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2015

We stayed here for about 5 nights in January and had a great time. The hotel is beautiful and is away from all the noise of the old city yet is a very short walk to get there. The staff is very nice, including a very sweet woman in the breakfast room who remembered every day what I ordered. It... More

this is a lovely hotel, not a resort hotel, with a convenient location, very nice staff, and a peaceful atmosphere. Our room was well thought out and unusual design, very comfortable bed, great tub and shower, clean and spacious enough with good storage. The breakfasts were good, especially the fluffy french toast and the fresh fruits. Good coffee. We also... More

We stayed in the De Chai Hotel in January 2015. While perusing Tripadvisor, we had chosen several activities that appealed to us in the region. On our first day, we had wanted to travel out to the Shinawatra Thai Silk factory. We asked the front desk to call us a taxi to take us there. At this time, the reception... More
