Nice located, in a quite place but close to the old city. It is quite far from the restaurant area (next to the river). Rooms have a very nice design and are clean. They are big, with confortable beds. Although we had quite many mosquitos in the room. View from the rooms is rather on backyards (not the best). The... More

The hotel and our room was nice and clean. Breakfast was good also. It was in a good location with most places in walking distance. The let down with this hotel was the service of the staff. After staying in several places throughout Thailand, the service in this hotel would have to be the worst. They hardly greeted you and... More

We really needed a nice stay after a rough couple nights near Bangkok. De chai was perfect. It was modern, the beds were excellent, the rooms quite big and the breakfast very good...especially the waffles and coffee. The location was also good for visiting the markets but isn't really walking distance to the night bazaar. Don't miss the Saturday and... More

It's clear to me that with fine establishments like De Chai popping up in Chiang Mai, boutique hotels are the way to go. It's new, clean, modern, but not stuffy. The entire hotel has a very unique and open feel, from the lobby to the rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful. We snagged a modest breakfast each morning which... More

My friends and I stayed at De Chai for 2 nights and we had an enjoyable stay. The hotel is conveniently located near the Old Town which is just 10 minutes walk away, making it a good base to explore the city. The night bazaar is also within 15 minutes walking distance from the hotel. The room is very spacious... More

We stayed here for 6 nights as our base for activities in/around Chiang Mai. The location is great, being less than 10 mins walk from the Old Town and only slightly further from the Night Market and river. The style is "modern Thai" with lots of dark wood and bright accent colours and was spotlessly clean. We had a superior... More

We stayed at the De Chai 2 weeks ago and found the staff very helpful and efficient. The rooms were large and the air conditioning worked perfectly. It is unusual these days to be served your breakfast but most appreciated. The staff helped us book trips and great fun was had keeping the mosquitoes at bay with a raquet so much... More

The location is good. Easy access to the main road for cheap tuk-tuk's. The hotel always had enough staff to attend to queries and the staff were always friendly. Room was very clean and had decent amenities. Short distance walk is Segway Gibbon - where you can take a Segway around the old city section of Chiang Mai and view... More

We had a great, large room that was super clean. The staff was very attentive and helped us with everything we needed. The location was perfect. It was quiet, a quick walk to the old city, a 15 min to the night bizarre. The breakfast in the morning had everything you could want. The price was also very fair.

Just spent four nights here while in Chiang Mai. First off the big negatives: 1. Lots of mosquitos. The hotels central atrium opens to the outside air, this allows them free access to get in the hotel and eventually in your room. The hotel puts out enough citronella to scare away most, but they still end up in the room.... More
