We stayed in the hotel on two separate nights and different storeys (2nd and 3rd floors) and found out that each room has different themes and qualities. For the first night, the room was very spartan and basic - there was no temperature control for the aircon, the wifi did not work (only the third storey had the wifi problem)... More

So very impressed... 10 min walk to yellow bar, wifi in rooms and decent computer room for free. Unlimited toast, tea and coffee, egg and bacon breakfast for 100 bhat. The hotel staff were extremely helpful. English needed a bit of work (my thai is awful so I can hardly complain!) there was nothing we needed to communicate and couldn't... More

We made Chang Puak hotel our base in Chiang Mai after some recommendations by fellow travellers on trip advisor. The only thing I can say is that all the positives I have seen in the earlier reviews hold true for the hotel and most of negatives seem to stem from people having far too many expectations from a hotel with... My friends had booked 5 star hotels in the other cities we visited, for $200+ per night. They luckily couldn't find a place in Chiang Mai, so I booked Chang Puak. It was clean and the staff was very personable. The breakfasts were good. While it was a few minute walk to the old city, being in the old city... More

Reading recent reviews regarding the staff,we must have been staying in an other hotel! In all our travels through Asia we found the staff the most rude, ignorant & unfriendly we have encountered.we do like to try different restaurants & do our own thing.i suppose if we spent mega bucks at the hotel they I suppose would take a different attitude.... Over the month of December (2013) we stayed here for 3 weeks and it was wonderful! The staff is incredibly helpful with everything from arranging transportation to setting up Spa visits and site-seeing. The pool was FAR better than the pictures showed (although it was a bit chilly) The food is priced about average for a sit-down restaurant (compared to... More

This hotel have a nice garden with a true tropical ambiance and a lovely pool with showers and toilets on the side. The rooms are clean and large. The staff is very polite and helpful. It takes you 5 minutes to walk to the Chang Puak gate in the old city, so you are close to the action. This is... More

We stayed twice at this hotel during our time in CM and we were very happy with our choice. Both times we were on the top floor but we had rooms on each side, I prefer the view over the pool as the other side is facing appartment buildings. The room is large and very clean with a decent sized... More

The hotel was 5 minutes walking from the North gate. The rooms clean and the staff polite and helpful. The food at the restaurant cheap and fresh, organic and homemade. The swimming pool is very clean and surrounded by trees in a very relaxing garden. Only negative is the wi-fi. Even if it was fast there were time when the... More

I stayed in this place with my wife and daughter for 10 nights. We had a triple room which was not really spacious for the 3 of us but sufficient. Rooms are very clean and done properly every day. A/C, fan, WiFi , hot shower working fine. Free internet (PC) in lobby. Food is really tasty altough the menu is... More
