Great place to stay and meet people who you'd love to share a drink with. I was here two years ago and came back here again this March. I'd come back again. Breakfast is included and great. Plenty of communal bathrooms to use. The place is clean. The rooms are comfy with enough space to lay your stuff out and... More

I stayed at Finlays from the 21st of March until the 28th. It came recommended to me by a friend whom stayed years ago, as well as highly rated here on trip adviser. Let me say that Ratria and Keith are both friendly, helpful, and just wonderful people. They took care of me every chance they could. Ratria felt like... More

This is a great cheap place for backpackers, very good located, within walking distance to night bazar and old city. Clean and cozy. I really recommend it for everyone looking just for a place to sleep. But the walls are really thin, and expect hearing everything from your neighbour room.

Awesome place for backpacker travel. We stayed here over new years, hotel owners are really friendly and booked our activities, they fit in breakfast around us which was awesome when we were up early. Rooms were really clean as was the bathroom – although the shower was pretty chilly but I was the last to have one so maybe all... More

We stayed here for 2 nights a few weeks ago, and out of the 15 hostels/ hotels I have stayed in Southeast Asia, it's my favourite. The cleanest one yet, too. We didn't have much time in Chiang Mai, but the owners were SO helpful and booked everything we wanted to see and do with 10% off, and even made... More

Girlfriend and I spent 3 nights here right before New Years. The location is perfect, only a few minutes walk from the east "Thapae Gate" of the Old City. This area is very visitor friendly with lots of restaurants and shops, and a terrific night market was set up every night at the Old City gate, although it may have... More

I stayed in Finlay's cottage for one night due to all the good reviews I had read. The location of Finlay's cottage was really good, just located outside the Old Town of Chiang Mai and about a 5min walk to the night market. The cottage feels like you have walked into someone's house! The rooms are clean and basic. Our... More

We have just spent 5 nights in Finlays and don't have a bad word to say! Keith and Rattri are both very helpful. We received 10% discount on any trips or activities we booked through them eg a Thai cooking class and they sorted out a tuk tuk to take us to the airport :) Rooms are spacious and clean... More

This was our second visit to Finlay's, in fact last time we were there we loved it so much we kept extending. To stop us doing that this time we booked a flight so had to leave. Finlay's is the perfect place, you feel at home with Keith there for advice and Ratri to look after you with fantastic breakfasts... More

We really liked Finlays - clean room, clean communal bathrooms, nice communal area outside where we met other travelers, delicious breakfast and amazingly lovely staff who helped us book tours with a discount and transport and were also great to chat to. Only downside was the uncomfortable mattress (although only one of us thought it was uncomfortable!). Would definitely stay... More
