A small guest house with 7 units, made of reclaimed timbers and furnished with simple ethnic fabrics. What makes BaaBooLoo special is On and her team (relatives and local community friends) who make sure every detail of your stay is catered for. This is not a Hyatt or Hilton, this is true Thai warmth. Breakfasts are a mix of Thai... More

We arrived tired from Bangkok, and just arrived the staff was very polite and profesional with us. Nice food and comfortable rooms. If we back to Chang Mai, we'll try to book in Baan Boo Loo again. Un trato encantador y profesional, unas instalaciones adecuadas y muchos detalles por parte del personal, sin dudarlo, repetiríamos otra ves. Éramos tres amigos,... More

Like living in a treehouse! This place has so much character. Orn is a sweetheart! And 2 months after I had stayed at BaanBooLoo she still remembers me and emails me with video updates of MeeMee & MooMoo (the resident house cats) I really wish I hadn't overbooked my itinerary because I didn't even have time to take one of... I was amazed with the excellent service we received during our stay. They always were happy to plan day trips for us, take us to the market and give us excellent cooking lessons. We were always served fresh fruit whenever we wanted and felt welcomed as we were at home. One of the warmest hotels I have ever stayed in,... More

We absolutely loved the separate villas here, we stayed in the Sticky Rice Villa. The room was very interesting (especially the bathroom!) and tastefully decorated. Needed more light in the room generally, especially near the mirror in the bedroom. Unfortunately the bed was very hard so we had a difficult time sleeping. The host is very nice, pleasant and helpful.... More

Chiang Mai is a haven for explorers and adventures; we were on our first tour just an hour and one half after landing and had activities - including an entire day riding elephants and another wonderful day spent trekking at Doi Inthanon National Park with Untouched Thailand - so we were extremely grateful to come back each evening to a... Like many Asian cities, Chiang Mai can be busy and noisy; I think BaanBooLoo must have created a magic field around the property... as soon as you turn onto their road the noise and any sense of being in a bustling city disappear. If you can't find peace and relaxation here, you probably need serious professional help! BaanBooLoo is in... More

In Thailand, I often find that 5 star hotels start off as a great concept, but in reality do not always fully live up to their standard. At Baan Boo Loo it's the other way round: where the concept is a guesthouse, the experience is truly 5 star. I love the use of recycled materials in the construction of the... More

My wife and I stayed here for the first 2 nights of a 3 week trip in Thailand. We actually booked the wrong date for the first night as the time change confused us, but BaanBooLoo contacted us once we sent them our flight information (for pickup from the airport) as they realized the mismatch between the flight and our... BaanBooLoo is fantastic! The whole place is gorgeous and has a rustic tree-house feel. Its a great place to relax and is just a short walking distance from the night market and temples. The best part about BaanBooLoo is the staff. They made us feel like part of the family and went above and beyond to make our stay as... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A Thai traditional teak house - a rare luxury in the centre of a big city such as Chiang Mai. Comprising adjacent small villas and relaxing gardens; BaanBooLOo acts as a guesthouse or can be booked as a private holiday home from 1 to approx 22 guests and has hosted wonderful wedding celebrations as well as many honeymoons. A unique residence, resplendent and charming on 3.5M high stilts and hidden right in the heart of an unspoiled local community in the ancient moat city of Chiang Mai old city; BaanBooLOo is surrounded by temples and authentic Thai life, with great balconies and a tropical herb garden - dragonflies - butterflies - chameleons - frogs - tropical flora. This is truly the place to experience Thai home life at its best without a formal hotel atmosphere but close to major tourist highlights in Chiang Mai and a couple minutes walk to the world famous Sunday Walking Street Market - but far enough away from the noise of the main Night Market on the other side of town. We would ideally like all visitors to be immersed in Thai culture and life whilst you of course also enjoy your privacy at BaanBooLOo. Please note that this is not a luxury 5 star accommodation, nor is it a hotel in the classical sense. This is a Thai rustic chic farmer style; lots of chunky wood, Thai fabrics and furnishings, fresh air in a big city, quality food, ambiance and attentive hosts offering family style welcome. Guests are invited to mingle at breakfast, dinner etc. There are cats and chickens in the farm like gardens. Please read some reviews to get a good idea before booking. ... more   less
