I come to Chiang Mai every year and this is one of my favorite places to stay within the old city with very traditional Lanna style architecture located in the heart of the city. The staff are very sweet and helpful. I came to Baan BooLoo when it was just starting out and I was On's first cooking student. It... More

I stayed at BaanBooLOo a couple of weeks ago with three fellow travelers and we all agree that this is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. We arrived in the late afternoon and from the moment we walked into the courtyard the staff was immensely helpful and charming. Unsure of how long we would stay in... More

We spent 4 days in Baan Boo Loo Guesthouse during our 6 weeks family vacation (two kids 1 and 3 years old). It was the most beautiful accommodation we had on our whole trip and one of the lovliest places we ever stayed in. We felt at home right in the very first second we stepped in. The manger Oni... I stayed in this place once before, around Christmas 2009, and it's expanded a lot since then. On this occasion I stayed there with my partner for two nights. In 2009 it was clear that it was a new guesthouse, but five years later it's a much more polished operation :-). The guesthouse itself is all built from wood in... More

A beautiful complex of traditional teak and wood houses in lovely gardens. Very quirky and imaginative designs. Lovely staff. A real Thai experience different from your run of the mill guest house. Adisak and his team are really helpful and run fantastic cooking classes. Adisak speaks good English so can be very helpful with any advice or assistance you need.

When we were travelling around Thailand myself and my husband stayed at Baanbaloo. Truly, the experience was an absolute delight. Bambaloo is beautiful in it's decor, traditional yet at the same time luxurious! Not only was it the surroundings that made an incredible impact on us, but more so the people who run Baanbaloo. Many places can blow you away... More

Price points are very high for the rustic neighborhood feel, so be cautious which rooms you book. We had a large group and 2 of the 4 rooms had no hot water for 4 nights. It was going to be repaired everyday and never was. Less of an issue was 1 room with no safe, internal doors that did not... More

This place is lovely - the staff are so nice, and serve up some awesome Thai food for breakfast. The accommodation is excellent too - surrounded by trees and nature (even thought it is right in the middle of Chiang Mai's 'Old City'. I loved waking up each morning to the sounds of the birds in the trees. Highly recommended!

Where to even begin about Baan Boo Loo? This place is so special. My husband and I spent 2 nights here during our visit to Chiang Mai and stayed the open air room. The service is impeccable and you truly feel like you are part of one big family with the other guests and staff. We did not realize our... More

Great location, people and accommodation. A truly unique part of our Thai holiday. the rooms are not typical hotel room decor but provide a sanctuary after or before trekking. Stay a couple of nights, you won't regret it. I believe the name means easy and relaxed home.
