We stayed in the private double room for one night. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Even gave us free natural mosquito spray made from eucalyptus. They do a fantastic breakfast of banana pancakes which the owner had ready for us at 7am! Yes it's a little noisy at night; frogs, insects, etc but that's all part of the... More

This wooden house makes for a very attractive and welcoming hotel. The host family is sincere and eager to help. Unfortunately, the floors are quite creaky and the walls are quite thin. This makes it easy to hear everything that is said and done in the common area and the neighboring rooms. Additionally, and more frustrating is the fact that... More

We booked a 2 night stay 3 months in advance which was confirmed back to us by the Sabai Garden. We arrived at 11am on the day of our reservation, to be informed by the owner she had cancelled our reservation and several days earlier had let our room to somebody else. We got no apology except for a statement... More

This is a gorgeous old teak house set in a lovely garden. I can tell you concrete details, like they provide you with a light bathrobe and pajamas to encourage relaxation, and there is a beautiful verandah with axe pillows for lounging, and it is away from the noisy chaos just outside of Tha Pae Gate, but it won't really... Sabai Garden is an absolutely lovely place to stay, despite all efforts of the owners to sabotage the great thing they've got going. Pros: It is centrally located but quite, and the "cocktail car" directly across the street was especially great. There's also a pretty garden, as the name suggests, where you can sit outside to enjoy breakfast or just... More

The place is a repurposed old teak wood Thai house, only has space for a few guests. Shared bathroom and a ceiling fan for cooling, but, it`s the sort of experience I wanted. Super friendly and cozy and a pleasure to stay there. Great atmosphere, great price and great location.

When I went out from the Sabai Garden, the owner asked me to leave the lock open so the staff could clean my room easily. I said OK and did so. After I came back, I found the room still unlocked after 12 hours of my absence. They use padlocks so everyone there was able to see my room was unlocked.... More

We stayed at Sabai Garden for 5 days in February 2012. It is a very beautiful traditional thai house with 5-6 rooms and shared bathroom; it looked like the owner's family old house with a lot of thai culture on display. the garden is amazing and very peaceful and the owner is extremaly nice...so nice she let us keeping our... I came into town late and my first choice from the travel book was full; I'm glad though I stayed here instead. It is an authentic Thai teak wood house - very atmospheric and cozy. They even provided bathrobes, and there are lots of other nice touches in the room that make you feel at home. The owner is super-friendly... More

Nice and comfortable guesthouse with beautiful garden. Owner Vicky is very friendly and helpfull. Rooms are lovely, with homey touches like slippers and bathrobes. Free wifi and great food. I can recommend the herbal tea. If you're looking for a relaxing place to stay in Chian Mai: this is it!
