I visit Chiang Mai every year and C17 has been my choice of accommodation for several years now. The rooms are nice, the breakfast is good and served overlooking the river. But the staff is what keeps me going back more than anything else. They couldn't be more friendly or helpful. Woody, Duan, Ken, Nui, Nui, and Nui, ( I... More

We stayed at C17, Thursday 14.03 till Tuesday18.03. We could not fault the experience, and as we are industry peers (from Australia - restauranteurs in Queensland) we thought our expectations may not have been met, or were too high - NOT the case at all, in fact the service levels were EXCEPTIONAL from the moment we were picked up from... Steve, thanks for your very kind review. Receiving a review from someone in the hospitality business means so much as you know what we go through to try and give the customers an exceptional experience. People in the hospitality industry have a critical eye for detail but also understand what goes on in the background. We try to treat our... More

The first room we were "showed" had a swarm of mosquitoes laying in wait and was about as dark and dingy at it gets. The "upgraded" room that we were moved to was much nicer but there was hardly enough room for both of us to get changed at the same time. Plus, the windows are not glazed so its... More

Bruce, thank you for your review. We take your comments very seriously. Mosquitoes are a very common problem all over Northern Thailand. We had a pest control company that was supposed to take care of the mosquitoes and other insects but they were doing a very poor job so we switched companies at the end of February. We have noticed... More

The place is OK if you are only looking to stay at a gay establish and pay GAY RATES! The room was so small, you could barely walk around the room. Food was OK, mostly tasteless. I had an ant colony in my bathroom, asked at the front desk to do something about it. Nothing was done. The lighting was... More

Buddymaine_13, thank you for your review. We take your comments very seriously. We know we aren't the best place to stay in Chiang Mai but we are trying our best to improve. We listen to the constructive criticism of all our guests and we try and keep an open mind. Our guesthouse is a 130 year old traditional teak building... More

My room had a lot of character. It was large and spacious with vaulted ceilings, and a beautiful view of the river. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and responsive. The location is about a 1-hour walk to city center. The only way to get to city center is to take a taxi.

FoxyDerick, thank you so much for your kind review and the photos that you posted. The room that you stayed in is our largest room on the second floor of the guesthouse. It has a very traditional ambiance reflecting the history of our 130 year old guesthouse. The walk to the old center of Chiang Mai is about one hour... More

Club One Seven in Chiang Mai is technically a little Guesthouse complex, but I'd prefer to term it an excellent little 2 star hotel. Located directly beside the Ping River, in a good situation close to town, it is a lovely place to stay. Peaceful & pretty. The hotel is a very well restored 150 year-old building, with only 6... Thanks so much for your kind review and your tip about the local restaurant up the road. There are a few good local restaurants in this area which I like to visit occasionally. Great local cuisine in our part of Chiang Mai. We actually have 11 rooms in our guesthouse. I think when you were visiting we were upgrading some... More

This guest house is a great place to stay and relax because + nice and quiet location, excellent river view + helpful and friendly staff + delicious food + large swimming pool + traditional, authentic wooden guesthouse Less points because - a bit far from center of chiang mai - bar menu could be a bit more
