Lovely home base to enjoy a quiet breakfast and then foray out to explore the Old City. This is not a 5 star hotel insulating you from the outside world. We were immersed in the neighborhood. Make sure to try the fish at Lert Ros, just across the street.

Our group of six people came to the Vieng Mantra for New Years. The hotel is located down a small alley a block from the main gate to the old city. The location was great, easy to catch a tuk tuk, a two minute walk to the massage place staffed by former inmates from the women's prison. (They had lots... More

If you are looking for a quiet and pleasant hotel which is within reasonable price range Vieng Mantra is the one. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good, especially scrambled eggs. Hotel is clean, rooms okay. Hotel is in the old town next to the old city wall where you can explore various markets. Swimming pool water is very cold.

We stayed here for 5 nights and loved it. The staff are all very smiley, cheery and polite. There are loads of bars and restaurants nearby but the hotel itself is in a quiet alley, but we felt very safe everywhere we went in Chiang Mai. The rooms are a decent size with a balcony. There is a good selection... More

The hotel is situated on a quiet street, just 3 minutes from the main road and east gate. It has a beautiful pool but there is only sun from 10 am to 2 pm assuring that the water stays cool. The rooms are ok and they have a nice balcony where you dan sit down and relax. The breakfast is... More

We stumbled upon this place after getting lost at night, so we asked a tuk tuk driver to take us somewhere nice to eat and he dropped us at the little restaurant adjoining the hotel. It was such an oasis in the middle of the city. We decided to leave our booked nights accommodation at another place to stay here... More

This was the first hotel I stayed in of my two week excursion through Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. I booked a room with a pool view and I thought that it was worth having the balcony and view. The room itself was nothing special but there was a safe and bottled water provided. Some mornings I was awoken by some... More

It was a bit hard to find at first as we were driving ourselves, and for us it is in a lane way not a street, but hey it is Chiang Mai. When we pulled up we were not sure where we were supposed to park, but the receptionist came out and moved the traffic cones so we could park... More

This hotel is very close to the action, but on a quiet street. The room was very nice with a very comfortable bed. The hotel is organized around a central courtyard with a lovely pool. The windows let in lots of natural light. The bathroom as not so great, but perfectly fine for our stay. Breakfast offerings were plentiful each... More

Quality friendly value accommodation in great location. Mum & Dad & 15 year old son really enjoyed our stay at Vieng Mantra. Great size family room, had everything we needed, and excellent pool area. When we come back to Chiang Mai, and we will, we would never stay anywhere else!
