Stated at the hotel for 10 nights great location in the old city. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Beautiful looking pool but very cold, possibly because doesn't get much sun on it. Right next to the Sunday market.

Location: 5 min walk to Thapae Gate, good for first time travelers. Grounds: Very quiet, rooms surround the pool, and 6 other rooms in another annexed building. No elevator, but max 3 floors. Pool was really cold, and was about 120 cm deep all the way (for kids bring flotation devices), it was really enjoyable at mid-day. Staff: Very polite... More

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and when we arrived our room wasn't ready, which was fine. We ventured out around town until we came back and had lunch across the street at cooking love. Highly recommend going there. We did 2 times during your stay. You can actually order at the hotel and order there food bc... More

The hotel is in a great location in the old city. An easy walk to all attractins in the old city. Not too far (easy walk) to night markets and close to many good plces o eat or get a great coffee. The hotel is neat, clean and the staff are very friendly. The breakfast is good and the assistance... More

I loved this place from the moment I arrived, its in a fantastic location and as I was travelling alone, it was good to be close to everything, and the old city is just beautiful. My room was clean, it over looked the pool, which i didnt use as it was a bit chilly when i was there, but looked... More

We stayed one night on our honeymoon and I'd say it is good value for the location. Right in the old city centre so you can walk to everything including cooking schools and tour pick ups. Room was a decent size with its own balcony. Only disappointment was bathroom seemed a bit dated and it wasn't fully cleaned when we... More

Lovely home base to enjoy a quiet breakfast and then foray out to explore the Old City. This is not a 5 star hotel insulating you from the outside world. We were immersed in the neighborhood. Make sure to try the fish at Lert Ros, just across the street.

Our group of six people came to the Vieng Mantra for New Years. The hotel is located down a small alley a block from the main gate to the old city. The location was great, easy to catch a tuk tuk, a two minute walk to the massage place staffed by former inmates from the women's prison. (They had lots... More

If you are looking for a quiet and pleasant hotel which is within reasonable price range Vieng Mantra is the one. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good, especially scrambled eggs. Hotel is clean, rooms okay. Hotel is in the old town next to the old city wall where you can explore various markets. Swimming pool water is very cold.

We stayed here for 5 nights and loved it. The staff are all very smiley, cheery and polite. There are loads of bars and restaurants nearby but the hotel itself is in a quiet alley, but we felt very safe everywhere we went in Chiang Mai. The rooms are a decent size with a balcony. There is a good selection... More
