We were amazed to discover the hotel building was built quite recently. The owner researched colonial buildings for years before building the Ping Nakara. It's a small boutique hotel on 2 floors. Rooms are delightful - teak furniture, four poster bed, lovely bathrooms etc. Restaurant for breakfast is partly outside in a quiet enclosed garden next to the pool. Being... More

We chose the hotel due to its looks, but there is so much more in it! The hotel itself is very beautiful and charming. It's not very big, and you feel like you are staying at a villa of your own. Every detail has been chosen so that the unique style of the establishment is maintained. However, the hotel would... More

My husband and I were picked up at the airport in one of the 2 1960's Mercedes Benz classic cars. I thoroughly recommend this treat. The driver waited patiently for us at the airport for 11/2 hrs which was our fault, as we sent them the incorrect time. We had a pool view room on the 3rd floor. The room... More

Dear Guest: We are very grateful for your kind words about your stay with us. As well, we are pleased that you found so much to enjoy. I apologize for the state of the pool water, which although safe, has not been crystal clear.  We use a salt water system for keeping the pool water clean, which is very good... More

Hotel is about $100 a night. It looks fabulous from outside, but when you get into the room, you will just get disappointed. It does not have the originality, they try to look old and vintage but all the have is the look of the building. They use something like a crappy fake phone with the vintage look. Interior is... Dear Guest, There must be a misunderstanding on the originality of the hotel. Our hotel was newly built, and opened in 2009. The architecture and interior of the building are of the 21th century, and follows the look and feel of the 'Lanna Colonial' style in Chiang Mai over 100 year ago. As the building was newly built, we do... More

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Ping Nakara hotel. The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable, large gathroom, and the contents of the mini-bar and snacks provided in the room are free of charge. The staff was very attentive, and breakfast had a nice selection. The pool, small, but very relaxing. Note to smokers: the hotel has a... More

Very pretty hotel. Free minibar which didn't contain many drinks but had a great selection of local nibbles which made up for it. We stayed for Songkran. We woke up in the morning to find a bucket, pistol and dry bag each waiting for us. The hotel is only a short walk from the craziness of Sobgkran but far enough... More

We stayed in Ping Nakara for 6 nights. This is not a big hotel but it is great and exellent! The room is so spacious and clean, also I like the hotel design very much. The staffs at front desk are so helpful, nice and cheerful, especially the tall girl. When we came back from outside, the tall girl welcomed... More

Dear Guest: Thank you very much for your kind remarks about the service during your stay, as well as what you enjoyed about the hotel overall. Our staff saw your message and was very pleased. Thank you also for your comment about the room carpet. We will explore product that can put under the carpet to prevent slipping and that... More

I truly enjoyed my time at the Ping Nakara. The service is amazing - everyone is so nice and helpful. Also - so many great free amenities: rides into down in the beautiful antique Benz (or take the rickshaw); in-room snacks and beverages; breakfast. The lobby smells like lemongrass which made me feel like I was living at a spa... More

The Ping Nakara is just stunning. We loved the architecture and attention to details in every room. After the pick up at the airport with the classic Mercedes and the very nice and attentive driver/porter we appreciated the check in even before noon. But sadly the overall service from the reception did not impress us at all. Our room was... More
