Colonial style boutique hotel near the Old City of Chiang Mai and next to the Ping River. Interesting architecture with beautiful detailed carvings. Great buffet breakfast included with room rate. All snacks in the room are complimentary. Bed was very comfortable. Joe, the general manager of the hotel, was very helpful and friendly. Originally from USA, he has lived in... More

Great stay at this hotel and friendly staff!!! We were picked up promptly from the airport in a beautiful antique Mercedes Benz. Once we arrived at the hotel, since we were there celebrating our anniversary, they had a bottle of champagne, rose petals in the jacuzzi tub and local snacks waiting for us in our room. We had absolutely no... More

My wife and I spent a few nights here on our honeymoon. The staff members were really friendly and considerate...they even arranged for us to get rides to and from the center of town because it was so hot outside. The room was top notch and very clean. I'd recommend this to anyone who is looking for a nice, quiet hotel... More

A wonderful hotel in a gorgeous setting. From the beauty of our room to the ambience of the hotel itself. Nothing is overlooked at Ping Nakara. The hotel is situated on the river outside the old city peaceful and serene, with transport at the door to whisk you into the buzz that is Chiang Mai. Staff are very friendly as... More

We were amazed to discover the hotel building was built quite recently. The owner researched colonial buildings for years before building the Ping Nakara. It's a small boutique hotel on 2 floors. Rooms are delightful - teak furniture, four poster bed, lovely bathrooms etc. Restaurant for breakfast is partly outside in a quiet enclosed garden next to the pool. Being... More

We chose the hotel due to its looks, but there is so much more in it! The hotel itself is very beautiful and charming. It's not very big, and you feel like you are staying at a villa of your own. Every detail has been chosen so that the unique style of the establishment is maintained. However, the hotel would... More

My husband and I were picked up at the airport in one of the 2 1960's Mercedes Benz classic cars. I thoroughly recommend this treat. The driver waited patiently for us at the airport for 11/2 hrs which was our fault, as we sent them the incorrect time. We had a pool view room on the 3rd floor. The room... More

Dear Guest: We are very grateful for your kind words about your stay with us. As well, we are pleased that you found so much to enjoy. I apologize for the state of the pool water, which although safe, has not been crystal clear.  We use a salt water system for keeping the pool water clean, which is very good... More

Hotel is about $100 a night. It looks fabulous from outside, but when you get into the room, you will just get disappointed. It does not have the originality, they try to look old and vintage but all the have is the look of the building. They use something like a crappy fake phone with the vintage look. Interior is... Dear Guest, There must be a misunderstanding on the originality of the hotel. Our hotel was newly built, and opened in 2009. The architecture and interior of the building are of the 21th century, and follows the look and feel of the 'Lanna Colonial' style in Chiang Mai over 100 year ago. As the building was newly built, we do... More

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Ping Nakara hotel. The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable, large gathroom, and the contents of the mini-bar and snacks provided in the room are free of charge. The staff was very attentive, and breakfast had a nice selection. The pool, small, but very relaxing. Note to smokers: the hotel has a... More

Very pretty hotel. Free minibar which didn't contain many drinks but had a great selection of local nibbles which made up for it. We stayed for Songkran. We woke up in the morning to find a bucket, pistol and dry bag each waiting for us. The hotel is only a short walk from the craziness of Sobgkran but far enough... More
