My priority in hotel selection to those shopping paradises is always the distance between the hotel and the bazaar. The Small is great in this option because there is a regular daily basis night bazaar, art gallery complex and Thaphae Gate at the end of the road. Besides, Warorot Market is at the road right behind The Small too. The... More

We enjoy our 4 nights stay at this cozy hotel, the room is nice and clean, breakfast is good, near to everywhere, but what impressed my wife and I a lot was the staff.. they're all very friendly and very helpful.. well-service indeed.. I'll definitely recommend it to all of our friends..

Great little budget hotel, ideally placed to get round Chiangmai, staff helpful, make sure you eat there at least once - the food is great, the lady who cooks can't do enough for you. Right by the night market and 5 mins from the old city.

We stayed here twice on our way in and way out of Chiang Mai. Asked for twin beds but got a double bed. Very, very hard and uneven bed. We just dealt with it. Friendly staff. Ok basic breakfast, egg station - enough to keep you going until lunch. Loud hallway noise. Mostly clean rooms. Strange shower, after 4 nights... More

Stayed here as the last stop in our Thailand holiday. We had it booked as half board and were quite surprised when we were informed dinner would be served to us in the lobby that evening (no restaurant). The room was basic as expected with a truly horrible shade of orange on the concrete floor and the bed was extremely... More

This is our first trip to Thailand, we did not know what to expect despite reading the reviews and talking with friends. Our first stop was Chiang Mai, not somewhere many people knew if but that made it all the better. I loved it. The people, the city, the friends we made but at the heart of it was the... More

We booked the small hotel after doing some digging for a cute hotel no more than $100/night. A few of the other places had no availability, so we were excited when we found The Small. We saw the mixed reviews and a few of the scary pictures, but we figured there will always be picky people complaining. Plus, some of... More

First of all, you need to know that there would be not many good, cheap options around the night bazaar. They are either cheap and crappy or expensive and nice (or decent at least). Having said this, we think that this hotel was quite decent option. We stayed in the standard room for USD60. The room was very small and... More

6 of us stayed at this hotel from19-23 Jan 2014. Below is the reason why we didn't enjoy our stay. 1. There was no Wi-Fi signal from Room 202, apparently it is too far away from the router. The other room was able to get the signal. 2. There is no towel exchange policy. Our bath towels were wet coz... More
