This is a good budget stay on Chiang Mai. The street it is on is no wider than a U. S. Sidewalk though. Very difficult to locate even with GPS programmed. No restaurant on site. Every thing is to the right as leaving hotel. Best Issan food is a 3 minute walk and a 24 hour Burger King less than... More

Location in the old town is very good, don't need transportation for sightseeing, shopping, etc. Hotel is basic but ok for the money. However, the bed was terrible as it was moving with every move you made and the mattress by far too soft ( old ). A/C was loud as a Sherman tank on the road and not efficient.... More

I stayed here for 2 nights at the end of my time in Chiang Mai. Its a friendly and clean guesthouse. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean - the set up means that you can hear a lot of noise from the corridor, but most of the guests seem to be quiet long term residence so... More

Down a quiet soi in the NE part of the old city this place is well situated and a no-fuss stay. Mattress was the usual hard thai affair but having the toilet separate from the shower was a welcome relief. Plenty of good quality restaurants close by as well.

The lady in the front desk was really friendly, she gave us a 2 rooms that weren't fully made up (the bed sheets weren't made) and she apologized when we checked out the next day. Located in a quiet off shoot from the main streets and the river it is definitely worth the price you pay. You'll be within walking... More

Close to sights in the old city, restaurants, and bars. Friendly staff and nice rooms. The rooms also have a fridge that is not common for Northern Thai accommodation. The price was reasonable at B650 per night. Very secure with a gate that is locked at night and a security guard watching the gate. You are also given a security... More

We seem to be making an annual pilgrimage to Chiang Mai for Songkran. This is our third year and our third year at Boonthavon. We stay here because it is comfortable, clean and friendly. It also has the the advantage of a good sized car park, and being in strolling distance of eateries, bars, corner stores, and massage and laundry... More

This place is clean, convenient and friendly. It's close to everything, very quiet and good value. The bed was comfortable, the water was hot and the room safe was a bonus. Motorbikes can be rented here without the usual large deposit or passport required at outside rental places. Take my advice, book it.
