We stayed here twice during our 6 month trip - once at the beginning and once on returning to Chiang Mai at the end due to what we thought was a good deal online. We paid roughly the equivalent of £7 GBP on a standard double room - the rooms were basic to say the least, but perfectly adequate for... More

I have stayed at the Royal Guesthouse several times, both with my family at Christmas and with my partner for a longer stay in Chiang Mai. It's authentic, the staff is very friendly (not sure whom some other reviewers met) big rooms, swimming pool, central and very cheap! Try to find a place for 200 bath near the night bazaar... More

I stayed here for 2 nights, basically for a friend's recommendation, the place was average,a bit smelly. It only had a Pool, and that was awesome. The problems with the staff, started next morning with a girl called "AOM" she was at the reception desk, she was so Disrespectful to me, she lost control of the situation, and even yelled... More

I chose this hotel as I wanted to travel cheap but I wished I had paid a bit more to go somewhere else. Staff were very good, could not fault them, but the hotel room was awful, The curtains looked like they were desperate to be cleaned and felt that way too. No TV, No hot water (same as other... More

I know it's cheap but there's cheap and cheerful and then there's cheap without the cheerful! Bed sheets were dirty, one had a hole in, towels didn't smell clean, shower wasn't exactly sparkling, no wifi in rooms. On the plus the staff were lovely and the pool was nice.

Really friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are very basic but have all you need. The whole hotel needs updating big time but for the money we paid it was more than adequate. Not too far from the main attractions either.

The hotel is very cheap and very close to the night life, night bazaar and Thapae Gate. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms are cleaned every day. You can also leave your bags in a locked room after check out if you have a later flight/bus so you can go off and walk around for a bit.... More

I liked the location, but the building was a bit older. The staff here are super friendly was helpful in booking a thai cooking class for me. The pool is super nice and refreshing. Its in a good walking to the night market. And close to the river.

I payed 150baht per night to stay on the 7th floor. It was a basic room with shared bathroom. They clean everyday which is a huge plus! They also have a pool which was perfect for the hot sunny days :D They offer cheap food and some of the cheapest breakfast prices I find around. Nice staff...nothing special as they... More
