This guesthouse is extremely cheap and offers a friendly atmosphere. The staff are very trusting and you pay for everything upon departure (including food and drink). The rooms are very basic but that coincides with the price. There is a large social area where it is easy to meet fellow travellers. The guesthouse seems to earn the majority of their... More

Stayed a couple of days at Julies Guesthouse. It was cheap and that is the only good thing about it. Filthy rooms and bathrooms, uncomfortable beds. Sucky WiFi, noisy and the staff tried sevarale times to scam us to pay WAY more than we were supposed to at checkout. I would never come back and do not recommend it!

I met a backpacker on the way to Chiang Mai that suggested JGH to me so I decided to check it out. I was lucky enough to secure a bed (there were about 20 people waiting). The food is SO SO cheap here (even the Western food) and the rooms are adequate. Showers/bathrooms are adequate as well. The best thing... More

I started at giant guesthouse and found it too laid back for me as the french crowd there were into pot and staying up late, so i moved to julies and found it much better. More diverse crowd, passing through so they wanted to go explore, good service, clean room but the wifi was spotty and not working well, no... More

We stumbled upon this place by complete accident. We had heard about a hostel nearby and asked to be taken there. But seeing Julies, we quickly swapped. Huge hangout areas with couches and cushions, hammocks and little balconies for playing music and meeting people - Julies makes everyone feel included. They do really great food and are beyond helpful when... More

Upon returning to chaing mai for the third time, I had noticed that each time I departed from the night bus, all the talk was of staying at Julie's guesthouse, so I came along, was lucky enough to get a room, for it seems almost always to be full, and every morning turns people away. The room I received had... More

I foubd the staff here to be very friendly and helpful. One of the ladies here was so honest with ne and sorted me out with a trip that suited my needs. She also rebooked me into a room as I had to leave for Pai for a few days and return for my trip back in Chiang Mai. No... More

Julie's is a great place for backpackers. The main reason to go there is for the social aspect. You walk into the common area to find it constantly packed with travelers. There is a warped Snooker table, along with plenty of lounge space to hang out and chat. They have a very reasonably priced menu, along with a cooler full... More

We had an excellent stay in this guesthouse. We stayed in a double bedroom with ensuite. The room was clean. The staff at the guesthouse are fantastic, we booked our 3 day trek with them, and they kept our big bags whilst we we one the trekk. We also booked a cooking class via the guesthouse, which was really good.... More

We loved our stay at Julie's, food was great, room was basic but fine, we had a double with shared bathroom for 180, but the walls were very thin- we heard coughing and splattering and couples having a good time! Great backpacker atmosphere and fab for meeting others. Nice system with drinks, help yourself and write up your own bill... More
