Only stayed one night , a Saturday so the walking street market was literally next door! Close to lots of food and attractions. As a solo traveller it sometimes irks me that properties don't offer discount for singles, however the rate here is very reasonable although breakfast is not included.

Stayed here for two months. The room was great, spacious with a view out over Chiang Mai and the sunset. The bed was comfortable slightly firm but thats the norm for SEA. Television had a fair few english channels and room also had a microwave but no kettle which was a bit of a shame. Bathroom was a good size... More

The Smith is located minutes walk from night markets, food markets, the old city and the rooms are very clean and of a decent size. Front desk are a touch un excited and need to crack a smile every once in a while to make you feel more welcome to be there but really that's not a reason to boycott... More

We stayed in a delux corner room for over a month. I'd move in permanately. Nothing to complain about. Great staff, good atmoshpere throughout. Great views, lovely roof top pool(small) and gym (limited). Enjoyed the room service too. Good food. Common area downstairs was popular with the local expats, a friendly bunch. Secure, safe and just next to the south... More

Spent a month here. The bed was not the most comfortable and it's a bit dated, but the staff and fellow residence were really fun. This is a great starting place to get used to Chiang Mai and Thailand. Also strongly suggest the club sandwich from the restaurant down stairs. It's divine. Good value!

We stayed in the Smith Residence for almost three months, in a suite room on the top floor. Suite rooms in Chiang Mai means separate living and bedroom areas. The Smith suites are quite spacious, but furnished with standard spartan Thai furnishings. The lounge area had a two-seater sofa, a four-seat dining table and a mini-kitchen. The kitchen had a... This won't be my full review as I am still staying here but thought I'd better put something down before I forget. I snapped some ligaments in my ankle yesterday and am now crutch bound. I went to a restaurant tonight for a bite to eat and the journey was agony, (shoulda took a tuk tuk, I know). When I... More

Pretty nice hotel, very clean, good size room with all the essentials provided, large fridge, TV, AC, clean bathroom with separated shower what does not happen to often in Thailand. Very friendly and helpful staff. There is a pool at the top floor which is great. Perfect and quiet location - only a few steps away from the moat, saturday... More
