This won't be my full review as I am still staying here but thought I'd better put something down before I forget. I snapped some ligaments in my ankle yesterday and am now crutch bound. I went to a restaurant tonight for a bite to eat and the journey was agony, (shoulda took a tuk tuk, I know). When I... More

Pretty nice hotel, very clean, good size room with all the essentials provided, large fridge, TV, AC, clean bathroom with separated shower what does not happen to often in Thailand. Very friendly and helpful staff. There is a pool at the top floor which is great. Perfect and quiet location - only a few steps away from the moat, saturday... More

My family and I have traveled the world, and we have never felt so much love, as when we stayed at Smith Residence. They threw a birthday party for my daughter when she turned 4, they always invited us to events, and when any of us was sick, they took care of us; (brought in the Doctor, got our medications,... As a a three-month resident at Smith, this has been and continues to be an excellent experience. To my Western sensitivities Smith meets my needs and preferences. The location south and just outside the Old City to my mind is perfect. Great walking area. Far enough away from the tourist areas for sleeping but just a short few minutes walk... More

Smith's Residence in Chiang Mai Thailand is a great place to stay if you are happy with the basics . The hotls is clean with a very helpful staff. The pool on the top floor is great....not huge, but large enough for a good swim and a relaxing cool-off. The location is super...just a short walk to wonderful temples and... More

I stayed a basic room for a month. Great place to get settled into Chiang Mai. Facilities and cleaners are great, it does lack atmosphere though, with only a small bar where people sometimes gather. The gym and pool are nothing flash but they are on the rooftop so you can't Complain about that :)

After 5 weeks here I feel I should write a review. I've stayed in slightly over a dozen places in Chiang Mai previously, this is simply the best place I've stayed. Cost depends on the floor you stay on, and on the 6th I'm paying 9,600 THB, bit more than I hoped for, but it's worth every cent. Yes, you... More

We stayed here for almost 3 weeks as it was convenient location to CM Gate. However, there are probably other places that are a better deal. The rooms are large but the furnishings are sparse. Complaints: No bedside table or lamp, no storage shelves or cupboards for your clothes (hanging closet only), noisy from street, anything extra you want (like... More
