Situated in the old city, this is a good location for exploring Chiang Mai. There is a tourist office in the restaurant for day trips. The food in the restaurant is good but there are plenty of places nearby that are excellent too. There is a bike rental opposite offering good prices. The rooms are simple but fine for a... More

I've stayed here for over 2 weeks. They are a very inexpensive hostel, with everything you need, a pool, to escape the heat, restaurant , and washing facilities- 30B per kilo. It's about a 10 min walk from the night barzarr. With all the local convities a2 mins walk away. In my opinion wheather your staying for a couple days... More

After a stay here with my boyfriend earlier this month, I am genuinely surprised to read the terrible reviews on tripadvisor! We had stupidly not planned ahead for hostels in Chiang Mai and as a result, just went along with the tourist info at Chiang Mao, which offers free transport to SK1. We were apprehensive as a result, but it... More

I gave it a miss after being shown a budget room on the ground floor next to the pool and saw a large cockroach scuttle under the bed. Maybe the upper rooms are better but it felt creepy/dirty and dark and I couldn't stay there- I did stay at their other hotel though and there was also a cockroach in... More

The staff were always grumpy and too interested in playing video games rather than helping their guests with directions etc. The rats in the hotel were HUGE and disgusting. The wifi didn't work in the room and I was ground floor next to the pool (the reviewer who said he paid 1200baht for a night got ripped off- we paid... More

We stayed here very last minute arriving from the overnight train from Bangkok night train, before starting a north of Chiang Mai jungle treck. (Prices as of May 2015) Having not researched and planned like most of our other bookings we were worried what to expect. We got a twin room for 1200 baht, 600 each a night, you could... More

We booked a couple of nights as we were unsure of our plans whilst in Chiang Mai. We started off with a double bed and fan but then moved to air con room after a few nights and stayed for 1 week in total. This was mainly due to our lack of motivation to move hostel in the heat. However... More

We booked 5 nights at this hotel from 20th -25th may. As we was coming towards the end of our trip, we chose SK house 1 as looking through the pictures look like a lovely hotel and the fact it had a swimming pool was a bonus. We couldn't have been more wrong! On arriving the hotel we were quick... More

There are 2 hotels SK 1 and 2 this review is based on 1. Do not stay here!!!!!!! Absolutley appalling hotel! Along with being ridden with rats, you can actually see them coming from the kitchen, The service is the worst we have received in 5 months of travelling. The staff are extremely rude, can barely drag their eyes away... More

A swimming pool at this price is a great deal, and why we chose to stay here. The location was also great, and we enjoyed the courtyard area. WIFI was strong and the restaurant was quite good. We stayed in a fan room that was clean but very hot (often a few degrees hotter that outside) - the fan was... More
