We hadn't booked and when we arrived at lunchtime they said that they only had one double room left, so maybe book in advance if you can! We didn't have a choice and had a room with a balcony which you pay extra for, I really wouldn't bother as it's tiny and your view is just of the building next-door.... More

We stayed for 4 nights in Awanahouse in a family room on the top floor and really loved it! The guesthouse is centrally located, but very quiet, very affordable and perfect for families. The staff was more than helpful in every way. The family room on the top floor is perfect: 1 big bed, 1 bunk bed, bathroom and in... More

You can get places a lot cheaper, or a lot more expensive. For a great location, with a pool, this is pretty much spot on. I don't really tend to spend a lot of time in my accommodation, I want to be out exploring! The hotel is very near the Tha Phae gate, which makes finding it easy enough, and... More

The guesthouse is location in old town, very close to the main temples, restaurants and bars. Most of the staff are very nice and friendly and know very good English, but they charge you for everything extra. You need to leave 300 bahts for a key deposit, breakfast is not included, even for an emergency collect phone call.

this place is in a perfect location right next to thapae gate in the old city. We stayed here 3 times over a period of 2 months as we were working around Chiang Mai. The rooms are good, clean and the swimming pool is perfect for a hot day. I only have one bad thing to say about this place.... More

This hotel is right in the centre of Chiang Mai just down a side street, perfect location. The rooms are immaculate and for the price it's simply amazing. We returned here after going to Pai. They have a small pool which is great when it gets really hot and it's steps for the Sunday walking street. I highly recommend!

We had a twin room in Awanahouse. It was beautifully presented with most comfortable beds and our own private bathroom with simple shower and toilet, and a good clothes closet. The staff are very friendly and helpful at all times. It was wonderful to have access to a swimming pool, which you don't usually have with budget accom. The location is... More

We stayed here for 11 nights and couldn't have been happier! This is an amazing find, so close to everything and yet so quiet. The staff are lovely and very helpful and can't do enough for you. The security gate is a great idea and it is literally steps to the Sunday Walking street market. We chose the cheaper room... More

My sister and I stayed 4 nights in a twin room in Awanahouse and it was a delight. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is good. The whole guesthouse is decorated and it is obvious that the owner and staff take a lot of pride in the establishment. Our room was restful and pleasant. It had its own... More

Are you kidding me? This joint has the nicest staff, with clean beautiful rooms, security gate and a swimming pool all within a block's walking distance from Thapae gate. I lived here a month, after shuffling around several other options in the area I definitely found my match. You could pay slightly less and get something okay, but you won't... More
