My only complaint is that the towels smelled a little after using them but after 5 months travelling In Asia that is very common. I enjoyed the pool and rooms here the staff are friendly and helpfull and the beds in room 303/304 are particularly comfey! Although the shower is basic - it is warm and does its job :-)... More

We had there many ants in the bathroom and room, because the service cleans the rooms once in 3 days (we had full baskets and no toilett paper). The toilett was rusty or what. The positive thing was, that it is not far from the Night Market. The price was higher during Songkran festival (I really don't understand why, because... More

This 3 level moderish building in 3 streets from the moat and Thapae Gate. They have a swimming pool that is completely under cover, but not heated. So even now, the water is quite cold. It was a nice quiet spot at night. They have a/c and fan only rooms. The rooms are a good size, TV and free wifi... More

After the let down that Smile House (Chiang Mai) proved to be, Thaphae Garden Guesthouse really did blow me and my partner away. Upon arrival we met the receptionist who spoke perfect English, showed us the room and even helped us to book fantastic days with the elephant sanctuary and cooking school! Even the location is good, it's 5 minutes... More

This place is excellent! Receptionists are so helpful, place was clean and well equipped, and everything works as promised (AC, wifi, air-con). Good location, pretty central but also quite quiet. My only advice would be as the lobby is open, the only thing blocking Mosquitos from your room is your bedroom door so keep it shut as much as possible!

My partner and I booked an aircon room for four days. The room was clean and spacious and included wifi, flat screen tv and swimming pool. The location of the guesthouse was close to the night bazar and the sunday walking markets. Also down the road is a temple that offers the best thai massages Ive ever had for only... More

Me and my boyfriend came here for a second location on are travels in Thailand and we thought it was really nice hotel, rooms we're spotless but only thing is, don't get fresh water in every day you have to ask! Plus we had just come off the night train from Bangkok and it was too early for check in... More

Just outside the city walls the Thaphae Garden Guest House is a family run hotel 2 minutes from the main Chiang Mai market which stretches across the old city at weekend nights. The rooms ( I tried 2 on different nights) are spacious clean and well equipped with fan or a/c. The small swimming pool is always open and available... More

The location of Thaphae Garden is fantastic, and the reason we stayed here. We wanted to be centrally located and this is about as good as it gets. The rooms themselves were average, nothing special. Hot water worked well and everything seems clean. Cable tv worked well but the wifi was not great. Overall I was happy with it and... More

The location is great - easy walking distance from both the old city and night market. The room itself was basic and adequate. There were many mosquitoes in the room when we initially checked in so we kept the window closed for the duration of our stay. We were in a fan room and never felt too hot with only... More
