I'm generally a budget traveler and I chose A9 because it was priced in the budget-range (450 THB for the most basic room) but advertised as more of a quiet, boutique hotel well-away from backpacking mayhem and came with mostly positive reviews. I was disappointed in what I found. The guesthouse does have a lovely facade with professional landscaping and... More

The hotel is too far from city. Cost about $100 to take tuk tuk to city. It cost more than $100 for the way back since the drivers are not willing to take $100 to this remote area and get no passengers on their way back to the city. Part of the hotel is under renovation. Construction noise wakes me... More

We are a young couple who travelled to Chiang Mai for the first time. We were recommended this place and we didn't regret it. This little hotel is perfect for your needs in Chiang Mai. It is simple, on the small side, quaint and very clean. We thought it was well located and we walked everywhere in old Chiang Mai.... More

Although far from the city centre and the night market, this place was an enjoyable stay. A group of us stayed here for a night on 2 separate occasions and I didn't hear much complaint from any one of them. The rooms were clean, although only a couple of us had aircon so the others had the fan and didn't... More

We found the staff here extremely helpful, letting us in to our room at 7am after we arrived via night bus. They went out of their way to help us, and gave us a free lift to the bus station the next day. Rooms were clean and comfortable. My only criticism is that the hotel is far from the centre... More

Nice little hotel slightly out of the way. Nice and quiet. Friendly staff, who will give advise and help with tours or just call the type of transport you want. The elephant camps are close by and worth a visit. Get the reception to organise a taxi for a day tour to include some other attractions near the camp.

The hotel is in the middle of a field out of nowhere about 4 km from the center of the city. You have to walk 500m to get to a huge highway to even catch a cab. And you have to go across this highway to reach some minimal action. Lots of errand dogs between the hotel and the center... More

In the past I have stayed, on and off, at A9 for a period of almost three years. The main attraction for me is the quiet and relaxed atmosphere, the clean rooms, friendly staff and of course a great price. It's leafy garden is also a big draw. For guests who are short term it is easy to get into... More

The staff is friendly and helpful, the wifi good, the rooms orderly. It is quiet here, but other hotels I've stayed at in CM were quiet, even cheaper ones. I booked a room for two nights here due to good reviews and, at 380 baht for a fan room, its low price. I found the stay rather pleasant. The drawback... More

Our rooms were clean and tidy, had wi-fi, and satelite TV and complimentary water in the fridge. They also have laundry facilities, so we got a load or two of laundry done while we enjoyed our stay. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Although it is a 10 minute drive from the old town, we had hired scooters (Through... More
