The accommodation itself is great for the price. We stayed one night in a 4 bed dorm which we had to ourselves, and there is a bathroom attached. Aircon is also well functioning. However if you are looking to meet people or have a more upbeat vibe, I would maybe look elsewhere. I would recommend this to anyone seeking some... More

At first it appears to be some kind of mistake that a place with that much nature in it could be in the middle of a city like chiang mai. But it really is a very comfortable place to chill out between the party sessions and free time adventures that chiang mai offers to its visitors. i can personally recommend... More

Great location, central but quiet at night. Street food stalls and nice cafés nearby. The outside lounge area with big sofas,a swing, tables and hammocks is a big plus and we could organize our cooking school course and Muai Thai show at reception. Coffee, tea and toast (jam/butter) is available all day. The front gate is closed at 20h and you need the... More

Room is reasonably priced, large and comfy. They sorted our onward travel and all the tours with ease. Location is nice and quiet, a 10 minute walk to busier parts and 15-20 minute walk to the busiest places. Really enjoyed our 6 day stay here. There is a bit of a garden where local birds can be seen if interested... More

When I reached this hostel, the host gave me very warm welcome, I felt like home... The room is clean and environment is quite, very satisfied for the rate i paid for it. The common area serve coffee, tea, bread and some biscuit throughout the day, this is a plus. Not a good location as this hostel is located north-west... More

Nice small family run business. They always have coffee and toast available in the common area. Laundry facilities available. Room had LOTS of mosquitos. Bathrooms were a little old, but kept clean and tidy. Guesthouse provided "towels" that were just large sheets. Location is a little far from the heart of things in Chiang Mai. Quieter area that's a little... More

This was by far the most beautiful guesthouse I stayed in Thailand. The price was 10 EUR/ person/night, including simple breakfast (coffe, tea, toast, jam, butter). The terrace is in the middle of a big garden. The vibe is relaxing and home-like. Me and my friend stayed in private double room. It was big, clean with nice details. The owners... More

The staff really makes this place. Very helpful and willing to take the time to guide you and offer suggestions. When I couldn't find a tuk tuk the owner himself ferried me in his car. Nicest guy. The rooms are basic and what you should expect for the price, but clean and comfortable.

First off, I am not usually one to write reviews but this place deserves the praises. From the amazing family that runs the hostel, to the resident rooster that is roaming the grounds, Gongkaew became like a second home to my friends and I and we will truly miss it. It is quite possibly the cleanest hostel that I have... More

A friend and I arrived here after a long bus ride from Bangkok and we were able to check in early free of charge. The place is huge with an awesome common area outside (which is lacking in most places more central). Bathrooms were kept clean and well stocked with toilet paper and the showers actually got hot. It definitely... More
