Very cheap due to ghost rumours, although a hounting might have improved our stay. Yes, it is cheap and yes it is very very old and have had absolutely no maintenance for the last 25 years. Hotel staff dressed in their own clothes and joggingsuits. A very green algae-filled swimmingpool. Worn and torn interior. Someone had been writing on the... More

My expectations of a budget hotel aren't high. I've stayed in some pretty questionable accommodations in Thailand but I've never once left a bad review. You get what you pay for but I wouldn't stay at this place if it were free. We booked four nights and paid in advance through an online travel site. The price was low but... More

After reading some of the reviews about the hotel I booked the hotel with trepidation for 7 days from 20 January. When I arrived the greeting was quite off hand but did not take too long. There was no assistance to my 5th floor room however there are three guests lifts. The room was dated but quite large with uninterrupted... More

So due to my procrastination on finding a hotel in Chiang Mai, we were left with very few choices, and we took a chance on this. The place was cheap and well-situated close to the river and the night market. The place wasn't as dirty as some of the other reviewers noted, but still was somewhat grimy and had a... More

The Diamond Riverside Hotel must have been a great hotel in its day. At present it is a very economical hotel - about $20 per night. Expect what you pay for, it was relatively clean, a reasonable buffet breakfast plus it is located down-town close to the river and local markets. Walking distance to the walled city.

we stayed at this hotel for 4 nights during the loi krathong festival...i would not stay again. POSITIVES location comfortable beds hot shower views over city big rooms NEGATIVES bathroom was not nice - big yellow smear marks down the tiles and the toilet leaked when flushed - all over my feet. the same happened with the communal toilets in... This hotel used to be one of the best in Chiang Mai; my family and I often stayed here when I was a child. But coming back to it as a young adult, I was very disappointed. The room was alright, didn't see any cockroaches like the other reviewers, but it had a musty smell to it. The furniture was... More

I cant say that I disagree with any of the poor reviews of this hotel. After two hours in the room I had bug bites on my back. After changing rooms, there was a huge turd wedged in the toilet of the next room. It is a pity because with a little investment this could be a real gem of... More

This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I didn't know that such a horribly filthy and disgusting hotel existed, much less could stay in business. It's outdated, but outdated I can do. It's tacky, but tacky I can do. It's poorly decorated, but poorly decorated I can do. Things I cannot do include blood on... More
