We arrived early in the morning and were able to check into our room, which was great. Full AC and clean. Kat was so helpful to us, especially because we hadn't done much planning ahead of time. She called a place to come to the hotel to rent is a motorbike and made sure everything was working out for us.... More

Because of the many good reviews of Vanilla Place on TA, we booked a standard room for a couple of nights. Immediately after arrival, instead of showing us the room (after a long trip from bkk with backpack we were pretty tired), they tried to sell us different tours etc. for a HALF AN HOUR!!! With the 17% tax via... More

The nicest hosts we have met on our round the world trip. Kat and her daughter Maew went over and above to help us plan and book activities and also get us taxis at a non-rip off price. We just kept extending our stay, didn't want to leave. Also the cutest doggy ever called Happy. Bedrooms were great, Ac and... More

This is a delightful guesthouse run by a charming lady ( Kat ) who makes you most welcome. Rooms are simple but comfortable with all that you need for your stay. Breakfast was basic but plenty of it. We only stayed one night as enroute to Laos but will definitely use again as such a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Ideal location... More

One of the best places I stayed traveling in Thailand. The rooms are good but not extraordinary, everything is clean; it´s basic, but thats what you pay for. The reason I rate the place so high (others seem to feel the same way) is the owner. Very nice and helpfull, just great. In the end that´s what I´m looking for... More

Home is where the heart is, and it is no stretch to say that owner Kat and her daughter Meu(sp?) make their guest house a second home while on your travels. This cozy place is perfect walking distance from all of the Chiang Mai action without being in the heart of the chaos. Kat and her daughter helped us with... More

this Guesthouse is like having a bedroom with your own bathroom in someone's home. Not fancy, but very clean, pleasant atmosphere. It is owned by a senior lady, she is very sweet, has wonderful English, and is quite helpful. Location is about 5 minute walk from Night Market, and 15 minutes to Old Town. Continental breakfast consists of toast, lots... More

The best thing I liked about Vanilla is the nice attitude of the owners- mother and daughter and the unbeatable location. The rest area on the second floor is also nice. Breakfast is not something special- toasts and fruts. I didn'like the room- no window. I have a breathing problem and at night it was no fun at all. We had... More

Affordable, clean, nice rooms, a comfortable bed, great location, and a super-friendly and helpful owner (family). Great, great value for money! FYI, the internet connection is rather slow, most of the time.
