Room was old fashioned, small and stank of must. Place looked like a prison in the corridors. Breakfast was horrible - cold eggs and sausages. Guest house was ages away from the main bit of the town. Only good thing was the pool. We booked for two nights but left after one.

The only nice thing I would say about this place is the AC unit in our room is strong so at least we got a good nights sleep. Cleanliness is sub par but haven't seen roaches yet. The free breakfast is a joke, the sausage is just lightly boiled hot dogs. The bathroom is weird being that is sink and... More

The pool was clean and pleasant. The hotel is near the center of Chiang Mai and temples. The suite fot two adults and two children was so dirty that you are afraid to touch a piece of furniture. The sheets smelled bad and probably were not washed. Nets were very gaps. One of the 2 bathrooms was under construction, the... More

The staff are friendly and the appearance from the front looks good however the room we stayed in was quite old and worn. The bathroom and toilet had hair and mould everywhere and the mosquito screens were too damaged to be effective. Breakfast was ordinary - juice not fresh, packet coffee and tea, white bread and precooked eggs sitting in... More

Welcoming guest house in a great location of Chiang Mai, Not so far from Saturday and Sunday walking street and the fresh market. Me and my friend stayed in Superior room and Deluxe room for 2 nights. We're book tour at the hotel '1 day at Safari' and Mr.Sam he's tourist guide 'VERY nice'. All the staff are lovely, friendly... Probably the best all round place we stayed in our month in Thailand. Will definitely choose to stay here again when in Chiang Mai. Great central yet quiet location, pleasant staff, free 24 hour internet/coffee/tea, swimming pool, good value. Tip: Visit the Elephant Nature Park for at least a day trip. Not your usual elephant rides etc, but a sanctuary... More

The Bupatara is a 2 star hotel and could be quite good, I did spend 2 weeks there over Xmas 2012, although the room was okay the bathroom had sticky green mould over much of the walls and no bathroom sink plugg and they are impossible to buy in Chiang Mia (really I spent a full day trying, finally using... breakfast variety is not its best but the rooms are big and so simple, in a positive way, that you like at home. the staff was really helpful. we didn't enjoy the swimmingpool because we had no time but I would have loved it!!! the best: quiet atmosphere, so I could sleep like a baby (I usually do) after a... Bupatara hotel is tugged away in a small neighborhood in the old city, away from the noise and traffic, yet so close to all the attractions and happening spots in town. The hotel has a family atmosphere with very friendly staff, who are most willing to suggest day trips, activities and things to do during your stay. It is also... More

I was very satisfied with this hotel, good value for money. Not expensive, yet it has a nice pool and breakfast is included, also free Internet. Staff very friendly. Very quiet place and guests are usually well behaved young Europeans. I extended my stay to 8 days. Not easy to find, you need to mention Prapokklao Road, Soi ha (4)... More
