Ban Wiang meets all of my personal criteria for good value. Central location which means, in this case, inside the moat which was built around the old city 700 years ago, Clean with a private bath. Reasonable price. This is not a backpacker dorm nor a luxury hotel. The private bath has a flush toilet, a sink, and a hand... More

Decent overnight stay, I was in Chiang Mai for just over 24 hours. And walked into a few, and then found and settled at this one! Tried to sell me a all day tour still, but I'll let that go. The room was clean and the staff helpful by giving me a map. I found it difficult to navigate back... More

I did not book or reserve and saw this establishment when searching for room to stay in my recent holiday in TH. The double fan room was 350 THB with its own bathroom (cold/hot shower). TV with international channels and the window has a screen (no mosquitoes). It was clean and very quiet so I had a very peaceful sleep.... More

This was my first stay destination in Thailand and it was well worth and made me fall in love with Chiang Mai. First of all the Hotel staff are very cordial and kudos to Merita for managing a decent and warm place like this guest house. I got a good room with balcony and double bed in a very neat... More

When I first came to Chiang Mai this was the guest house I picked out to stay at. I considered it's location as ideal , being so near to Thae Pae Gate and the Sunday Market walking Street - Ratchadamnern Road. The accommodation is basic, homely, affordable and clean. What more could you need when you spend most of your... More

The staff was helpful and the guesthouse is located in the old city. The rooms are not the best, a little bit old-fashionned, but they worth the price. We stayed there 1 night before a trek and came back after at the same place (but we didn't take their trek so we don't know their quality).

Very simple room but one of the cheapest guesthouses (400-500thb/night) with private shower in the old town of Chiang Mai. Rachadamnoen Rd (also known as the Sunday Walking Street) is the main road in the old city and Ban Wiang is just a 2 minutes walking from there at Thapae Gate.

Very clean, the room had windows and balcony with mosquito net (youre gonna need it), private bathroom with hotshower. Very quite to sleep too! Its not exactly charming but to stay the night and plan activities its great ( you can book everything from here and thenstaff will help you choose). The staff is really friendly! Ideal for couple backpackers... More

Hi all! I was glad when I've found this place in the center of Chiang Mai... Rooms are clean and comfy - the air con was new and very silent, bed was wide and long enough and the window had mosquito net on it. Hotel personnel was very pleasant and friendly. Also they have very good trip bureau: I had... More
