Ticks all the boxes for what we were looking for in Bangkok. Close enough to the action but also quiet when you want to get some sleep. Room and sheets were super clean and we were upgraded from a fan to A/C room at no additional charge. No complaints! Would recommend it and would stay here again.

The staff is very welcoming, and the rooms are mostly great value for your money. The aircon is great, but there are a couple of small problems: - the matress is as hard as a rock - beware! - the electricity inlets might not hold your chrager/whatever. I have no idea why. It just falls out. - The showerhead is... More

This place is definitely hard to find but as long as you get the taxi driver to call the hotel en route it's generally fairly simple! Excellent location only 3-4 min walk to Khao San Road and the most lovely staff there as well! The rooms are clean, we left too early for the breakfast so I can't comment but... More

This place is pretty hard to find which was not ideal after a 11 hour flight, even with the aid of google maps and the information on the website..The room was typical backpacker budget, although the bed was a lot more uncomfortable due to the plastic sheet which covered the mattress. Don't expect to be able to catch up on... More

Small, cheap, well located guest house with an air conditioner. The room was so small that it was hard to move, but the bed was big enough for two people to sleep well. Under the bedsheet there was some kind of a plactic cover - it was strange. Conditions in the room were acceptable. Suitable for backpackers who got used... More

Me and my partner loved this place! This was our first time in Bangkok, so we wanted a place that was pretty central and not too "backpacker"-esque. Somewhere where we could relax and shake off the jet lag. This was just it! The wifi was amazing, which was a huge plus. The AC worked well and the room was quite... More

Great little location at a good price, a few mins walk to Ko Sam Road one way and the River boats for access to the major tourist attractions the other. Good size room and en-suite with working air con and free wi-fi. We stayed for a couple of nights after flying into Bangkok and having had delayed luggage due to... More

This was the last hotel of our backpacking trip, and as a one-night hotel it was practical and comfortable. The best thing was the location: right off Khao San Road, and very close to the Royal Palace. The taxi from the airport had a bit of trouble finding it: look out for a small yellow sign on the road. The... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
