I have stayed here on 3 different occasion on my travels through Asia. It's a great clean cheap hostel with a fantastic restaurant, it's placed out of the chaos of Koh San road but close enough to walk there, air conditioning always works and smells great in the rooms! For the price it's by far the best hostel for one... More

After walking the streets of Bangkok for hours my wifes ankle had swollen up. I asked the front desk if they could supply us with some ice to reduce the swelling. They told us we had to go to the local seven eleven store to obtain the ice our selves. Not acceptable!!! I could hardly believe that the staff would... More

The room was extremely small. The bed fit between the walls, but to walk around with 2 people and lugage is difficult. There was also no hot water. Our room didn't even had a window so it felt very cramped and hot. Luckily there is airco. The staff wasn't really friendly and their English was bad. Best thing about this... More

Perfect to dump bags and get out exploring. Quite a small compact room but clean and tidy nonetheless. Good location not far from khaosan road. Staff friendly as we found is the same across Thailand. Bathroom clean and shower worked well!!!

This place has both the guesthouse and restaurant on TripAdvisor. Be careful. Basic place with nothing special. Young 'couldn't care less' staff'. I did get some advice about Thai islands. But overpriced food and ripoff beer removed any pro's from my stay. And after just 3 hours of checking in, I returned to find my toilet kit loaded with ants... More

My fiance and I booked Happy Guest House online while we were backpacking through Thailand and arrived expecting nothing more than a typical low standard hotel. When we arrived the reception staff, who had very good english, couldn't understand our accents and kept asking us if we could speak english. Being from Australia we understand that our accent is difficult... More

Stumbled upon this place around 7am after a long night train from Laos. Staff let me check in right away, without an extra fee for checking in early, so I could shower and nap. The rooms are small, but it was enough space to put my stuff in and sleep, which is all I really needed. Bathrooms are surprisingly clean... More

The guesthouse is clean, food is ok (especially coconut shake!). Room are little and the window view is a wall... So really dark! Quite noisy at night. Staff is nice but not particularly friendly. They charge me 15 baht to keep my luggage few hours before my bus... First time I see that! So i would say it would be... More

My borther and I spent our last 4 nights in Bangkok here and we loved it! It is situated in the best part of Bangkok and is so central, and only a two min walk away from Koh San Road. The staff were super friendly and really tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible. And as it was... More

Had a good night here. It's maybe a bit pricy for the small room and it didn't smell so good. Its also noisy from the street but that was to expect from the location. I give 4 points but its close to only 3.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
