I chose this hotel because of my friend's recomendation (550B with AC), but the price for double room with twin bed, AC, TV and hot water costs 620 B. It gets cheaper if you don't need those things :-) The worst is the noise!!! It comes from outside but people are playing loud music inside too, they run and smoke... More

I felt safe at this hotel. The room I stayed was simple. Staff was friendly. Great value for the price you pay for. The noise from bars around the area will get inside you room slightly bit but it's nothing you can do if you choose to stay on Khao Sarn rd.

We stayed here for 3 nights while we were in Bangkok waiting for our flight. The rooms were spacious, clean and quiet. The bar downstairs is ok and if you go left as you exit there is live music on every night in 2 different pubs. We really enjoyed the live bands. The hotel offers a bag holding service for... More

After being extremely disappointed by Sawasdee Khaosan Inn, this affordable place was a big step up. The room was simple but clean, the ac worked well, WiFi was very good and the price was just right by comparison to other places in the same area. We will definitely come back.

What a horrible place, altough well located. When you're staying in this place you're sharing the bathroom with huge cockroaches coming out of the drain and a sickening smell. It's also very loud and noisy during the night as the hotel is located in one of the busiest streets. Do not recommend!

Service in Thailand become awful. Sooo rude, unfriendly... now is 3.17 AM and we are sitting on the street with rats because check in at 4. Will never come again. Prices reasonable - true, but rooms are so dirty

We stayed at the star dome for almost a week and I liked the place.Being close to the center of the Khao San madness on one hand but having a nice, big, clean room( for a very reasonable price for this area) where you can relax made our stay enjoyable. But I must admit that probably we've been lucky to get a... More

I stayed here for 3 nights. The rooms are reasonably priced, the location great and the food in the restaurant cheap and really yum. If you are travelling on a budget this place is the best you are going to get as the rooms are clean, tidy, and not too hot as they have fans + aircon. Compared to most... More

Rooms are clean, and cheap. Bathrooms look a bit old and might be cleaner. The biggest problem is thai disco next door, so do not take rooms on the right side of builing (especially 1st and 2nd floor) if you planning to sleep. For the plus: Rooms are always avalaible.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
