We booked and paid in advance for 7 nights. We managed to stay only 3 nights and even though was to, to, to much from us. It's an unimaginable place to live for any civilized person. Before we left BKK for Chiang Mai we checked and found very nice and civilized guest houses in the same aria but on the... more

Literally. On the third night of my five night stay, I discovered that the bed was almost swarming in bedbugs. Every time I squished the ones I could see, more showed up. Which explained why I'd been so itchy and my back looked like I had some type of pox - I'd put it down to the heat. Beyond that,... more

Sawasdee Smile is situated in Soi Rongmai at the end of Soi Rambuttri not far from the river & Khaosan Road.A quiet place with a good area to sit ,eat, watch movies, and book tours. The rooms are small ,abit worn but singles as cheap as 350 baht a night for air-con and private bathroom. There is usually a special promotion if you stay... more

To save myself stress and hassle I've stayed at this place a few times before over the past 10 years and it hasn't improved at all. Last time was in 2004 and seemed ok just to sleep for 2 nights but this time was the last. Now I am defo not a clean freak, indeed I sleep in bamboo huts... more

Landed accidentally here as I wanted a shelter just for overnight stay in Bangkok. With nice memories of holiday in other parts of Thailand when I checked in I was shocked. The photos and quality of website was quite deceiving. I am not at all new to backpacking but this was the worst of all. I went back to d(r)eception... more

My husband and I arrived at the inn in the afternoon and were quickly checked in. The staff seemed very helpful and friendly and carried my rucksack up to the room. There was a nice restaurant and bar which showed movies most nights and a decently priced internet cafe. The location was great, on a quiet road just around the... more

My sister and I booked this hotel as we had stayed at the Sawasdee Sukhumvit Inn, and loved it. When we arrived, we discovered that they had given away the Superior Twin that we had reserved and paid for on their own website. We were given a Standard Double instead. The room and ensuite were tiny. The blankets looked like... more

I booked this Hotel for my wife and kids who are Thai and were arriving at 7am on 11th August, I informed the Hotel they would be arriving at this time and asked if the room would be made available. My wife arrived and was told she had to wait with the children until 12pm or take a smaller and... more

Friendly staff is the only thing this place has going for it! I paid for 2 nights but checked out after one. Probably the most uncomfortable sleep i have ever had in Thailand. The air con unit might as well have not been there, because it threw out air hotter than was in the room already. Informed the staff about... more

Of the places we looked at and slept at in Bangkok, this was probably the best value. Very much a backpackers' digs, the rooms were small and very basic and the cleanliness was so-so. However, for 350 baht we got a double bed, private bathroom, satellite TV and aircon. It was quiet too. A good choice for budget travellers. more
