This was a perfect place for us to stay. Just like family.Took good care of us. Mr. Happy speaks English and is a very big help with what to do. We used this as a home port in Thailand. Went up no and down south but came back in between. Felt like coming home each time. They have budget basic... More

I stayed some days here and I was really pleased. The rooms are very good priced and the atmosphere of the place is really relaxing. Its a break in the middle of the busy Bangkok. The rooms are really simple and without any luxury at all, I was not very pleased with them but for what you pay is more... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Shanti Lodge. We stayed in a regular room and it was a good bang for your buck. Overall, Shanti is a cool place. The building is colourful and interesting, the restaurant is awesome with a really great atmosphere. The rooms are adequate. A fun stay.

I didn't stay here so can't comment on the rooms. We were staying a couple of doors up and the food there was so bad we thought we'd give it a go. Food here was great! Can't fault it on taste. Both myself and my partner enjoyed our meals. However the place only gets an average review for 3 reasons........ More

We stayed in a very nice couple-bed-room with integrated bathroom. Price 750 bt. Very nice restaurant with bio food and a big vegetarian and vegan offer and relaxed alternative athmosphere 😊. (But bad pop-music.) Workers seems overworked! No mosquito-net - many bites 😕

Stayed at the shanti lodge last night.it was noisy and hot, even with the fan on.the food is decent as other travelers have reviewed.I moved this morning up river to a more moderate priced accomodation. If you are on a budget and happy with very simple accomodations, this is the place for you.I did not think it was on a quiet street... More

The first time I stayed at the Shanti Lodge was December 2004; and ever since we have been visiting Thailand regularly, and stayed at the Shanti Lodge every time we are back in Bangkok. For us, it's really like having a second home in the heart of Thewet. We know the staff, we know the area and we love the... More

Good option for people who want to experience a different side of Bangkok - located off a main road, but in a quiet street. Rooms are all unique, food is great and yoga/tours an option too. Great choice and many repeat visitors.

I stayed here in 2007 and again in late 2014. First off, the location is tough to beat. It is near the craziness of inner Bangkok but it is certainly an Oasis of calm. On my last trip, I spent a total of 6 nights here, on three different visits and when I tired of exploring Bangkok I felt comfortable... More

Shanti is great! I was always so comfortable and taken care of. The food is great and the people are great. I stayed in the dorms and the beds were very hard but I loved it. You are not located in the middle of everything so you are able to meet and interact with Thai people rather then just tourists.
